Which Were My 3 Favorite Moments from Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 7?
The dangers of being an idol, history repeating itself, and an improbable family. What were my 3 favorite moments from Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 7, “The Prankster Pixie ~Cuore in the Mist~”?

Third Favorite Moment: Carmina Is the Singing, Dancing, and Fighting Guild!
Does Nozomi use this move so much she felt like she had to name it? Capture from the Crunchyroll steam.
There seemed to be a lot of pandemonium in this episode! I guess that’s to be expected with a character like Foggy, whose power is messing with people’s memories. Take poor Chika, for example. She had unsealed Foggy, so her proximity made her the first victim.
That meant when she wasn’t comatose, she was eating everything in sight and licking her fellow Carmina idol Nozomi’s face. The behavior was, in short, very much unlike Chika. Very, very much unlike her.
That meant when she regained awareness, the first thing she did was launch herself into apologies so severe that she even said she didn’t know how she could go on living.
Nozomi sprang into action. She Karate-chopped Chika’s head as she screamed (10:07), “Idol Chop!”
Note the capitalization. I was honestly surprised that Nozomi had a name for the move!
Second Favorite Moment: Yuuki Steps in Front of Pecorine… Again
All I could think was, “Not again…” Capture from the Crunchyroll steam.
The series has done a stellar job of painting Yuuki as a sympathetic and noble character. The glimpses we’ve gotten into his past, like the ones we got in episode 5, showed how brave he could be. The decision he made to go back into the world, forsaking all of the relationships he had woven around him, also showed his courage. Even the shot of him almost mindlessly clapping along with the toy monkey with cymbals in episode 6 contributed to the mosaic we have of the kind of man Yuuki is.
Episode 5 had one scene in particular that stuck with me. It was the moment when Kaiser Insight fired a deadly bolt of magic at Pecorine. Yuuki stepped in front of her and took it in the chest. It’s the blast that knocked him out of this reality.
This episode wanted me to remember that scene. Because in this episode, Foggy unleashed a devastating, mind-altering attack on Pecorine.
No matter what reality, it seems Yuuki is Yuuki. He threw himself in front of the blast, again (17:58).
In the instant, I could only think, “Not again!” Only afterward was I able to take a step back and marvel at how much effort went into eliciting that exact reaction from me, at that exact moment in the narrative. I tell you what, the writers for this have some serious skills.
Favorite Moment: Karyl and Pecorine Share a Laugh
Think about the weight these two must be carrying! It has to be exhausting. Capture from the Crunchyroll steam.
Consider, for a moment, the weight Karyl must be carrying. She’s living a double life. In one half of that life, she’s desperate for the approval of Kaiser Insight, while at the same time she lives in absolute terror of her. She’s carrying the guilt of knowing the people she’s subtly betraying. Knowing them, and loving them. That’s got to be tearing her apart.
What about Pecorine? She loves the people of her kingdom. She loves her family. Yet, Kaiser Insight stole them from her. I can’t get out of my mind the image of her collapsing, sobbing, into Kokkoro’s arms at the the previous season – nor the look of longing on her face in episode 1.
Both of these women are carrying tremendous burdens. They’re likely on a dramatic collision course. But in this episode, for just a moment, they were be happy, together.
They had made it to the spring where they hoped to find Foggy’s seal. They started joking about how they were sisters, with Kokkoro being their mom, since she was so responsible. When Pecorine wondered how Yuuki would fit in, Karyl answered (14:51), “He’d obviously be the youngest brother.”
For an instant, they remained silent. Then both of them burst into laughter. It was one of those shared laughs that gently erases all walls and leaves in its wake feelings of peace and intimacy.
I have a bad feeling that’s not going to last!
