Welcome to My 5 Favorite Anime Blog Posts from 2022 Week 10!
Every week I look for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. I check around 340 sites, and I can tell you that the ani-blogging community constantly produces a ton of amazing posts. I hope this list helps you find some of them!
Here’s the list of the sites I check!
This will come as a shock to precisely no one, but I really liked Fruits Basket. I’m talking specifically about the 2019 re-imaging of the series (meaning no disrespect to the original, which I also enjoyed!). I reviewed all three seasons, and as many words as I wrote to praise it, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface. That’s why I enjoyed this post by The Overage Otaku so much! On his site Confessions of an Overage Otaku, The Overage Otaku dove into what makes Tohru Honda such a powerful, moving character. And as usual, The Overage Otaku offers his unique and captivating insights. See what new insights you’ll gain about Tohru!
There are times when I’m enjoying an anime and I come away from the most recent episode a little disappointed. That happened when I watched Sabikui Bisco’s eighth episode. Several things about the episode left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I’ll just say I was pretty ticked off at Bisco Akaboshi and Milo Nekoyanagi by the end.
My reaction is valid in that it reflects my reaction to the episode. But it’s limited by my perspective on the world. So in situations like this, I look for reviewers who saw positives that I missed. I found just that in Austin Harper’s post on Harper Anime Reviews. Austin Harper saw the same episode I did, but his review emphasized different parts of the episode. I’ll need to see the next episode to be sure, but this review gave me enough to think about that I’m a little less disappointed. See if it does the same for you!
Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc just wrapped up. So why are we still talking about Demon Slayer’s first season? Because there’s more to say! That might be hard to remember in the aftermath of the most current season’s bombastic ending, but it’s true. As evidence, I offer this post by jcenno on the site JCEnno. Reading this post reminded me of why I found the first season so interesting. And it wasn’t just because of ufotable’s animation! See if this post reminds you of what you liked about the season!
I rarely embrace rom-com series. Aside from Toradora, I haven’t given any rom-com series a 9 or 10 on MAL. And no, I don’t count Sekirei as a rom-com! With apologies Musubi, who would likely disagree. But a series this season that is giving Toradora a run for its money, and that series is My Dress-Up Darling. Why is that? What is it about the show that sets it apart? This post by jernahblunt on the site Jonah’s Daily Rants nails at least one of the reasons! And it has everything to do with the chemistry between Marin Kitagawa and Wakana Gojou. See what you think of jernahblunt’s insights on their relationship!
Apparently it’s My Dress-Up Darling week in My Favorite Anime Posts! Which is fine with me. Episode 8 might well be my favorite of the series so far, and that’s saying a lot. There was just so much to like about this episode! If you don’t believe me, then check out this post by OTAKU SPACE on the site Otaku Space. I found a lot of good reviews of this episode out in the anime blogosphere this week, but this was my favorite. It captured so much of what I enjoyed about this episode that I wanted to share it with you. See if it talks about what you like in the episode!
