Welcome to My 5 Favorite Anime Blog Posts from 2022 Week 12!
Every week I look for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. I check around 340 sites, and I can tell you that the ani-blogging community constantly produces a ton of amazing posts. I hope this list helps you find some of them!
You can check all of those sites, too! Here’s the Massive List of Sites!
The Afictionado
Watching K-On!! for the First Time in 2022 (and Crying My Eyes Out)
I’ve read more K-ON! posts in the last month than I’ve read in the last two years! The posts I’ve read have a common theme and a common characteristic. The theme is a celebration of the impact that K-ON! had on the writers. The characteristic? The posts have been very moving! This week, I found such a moving post by Alex on the site The Afictionado. What did Alex find so affecting about the series? This may come as a shock to you, but I refuse to say! And you know why, too (it’s because Alex can say it way better than I can). So you know what to do!
Anime Evo
Princess Connect! Re:Dive S2 – 10
Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 has been an absolute joy to watch. It’s such a rich mix of science fiction, fantasy, high drama, and tragedy. It’s hitting me right in my fiction strike zone. Judging from the tone and content of Flareknight’s posts on Anime Evo, the show’s having a similar impact on him. In Flareknight’s post this week, Flareknight talks about the unfolding tragedy that is Karyl. He talked about more than just that, but I found his treatment of Karyl’s plight to be particularly powerful. See if he talked about what you enjoyed most in this episode!
Anime Herald
THE UNWAVERING OPTIMISM OF THE AQUATOPE ON WHITE SAND
I think this is a first. When I go through all of the anime sites in the Massive List of Anime Sites, I copy the URL of any posts I think are candidates for inclusion here. Then, when I get through the entire list, I select my five favorite.
By the way, if you’re a blogger, thanks for making my Friday nights so much fun! I really look forward to my tour of the anime blogs after a rough week at work.
Anyway, I pay no attention to the author’s name until after I choose my five favorite. That’s when I lookup their Twitter or other handles. This week, I discovered that Alex Henderson shows up twice! Once in the post from The Afictionado and once here as Alex Henderson on the site Anime Herald. This time, Alex’s post is about one of the main themes in The aquatope on white sand, and it’s a great example of the reason I founded this site. See how Alex’s post celebrates the series in its title!

UNDERSTANDING IS EITHER EMBRACED OR REJECTED
In fiction, I can forgive honest mistakes or even some stretching of the truth. However, there is one type of mistake that’s tough for me to forgive, and that’s how fiction portrays people with disabilities. My son is deaf, and the realities he faces every day have left with with absolutely no patience for fiction that uses disabilities as cheap plot devices. It turns out that I’m not the only one who is aware of this kind of thing. LitaKino on her site Lita Kino Anime Corner has something to say about the issue. My experience allows me to say this: Her thoughts are spot on. See if they resonate with you!
The Magic Planet
Let’s Watch MY DRESS-UP DARLING Episode 10 – “We’ve All Got Struggles”
Sure, Marin is hot. Yes, Sajuna’s eyes look straight into one’s souls. But there’s a lot more to My Dress-Up Darling than attractive characters. To be clear: There’s nothing wrong with attractive characters. But if that was the show’s only appeal, then it would not be memorable at all. And I have a feeling that My Dress-Up Darling is a show I’m going to remember.
So, what makes it so? I’d like to direct your attention to a post by Jane the Anime Witch on her site The Magic Planet. I admire Jane the Anime Witch’s ability to tease out what makes a show tick. Same goes for her ability to discuss character and what makes a particular character successful — or not. Her thoughts about episode 10 really clicked with me. See what you think!

Here’s the video I learned of the rumour from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze-KLlKR7uY
I’m not 100% sure, but I think the tweet referenced in the video is this one: https://twitter.com/LoremIpsumVerb/status/1500508969604984842?s=20&t=NM7XtECnETd_EXat2pbhMA
Hard to evaluate, but I’d welcome the news if it turns out to be true! Season 2 was a game-changer, and I’m curious to see where Subaru goes from here. That, and I would like to see Rem wake up. She should be pretty well rested by now.
Hi, TCrow.
I don’t have much time for anime these days since I take the bus to work at a place far from home and do unpaid work after hours, but I’ve heard a rumour that Season 3 of Re:Zero is in the early stages of production. I’m not sure how true this rumour is, but I thought I’d share it.
Nice to hear from you again! I was wondering what you were up to!
Thanks for sharing the rumor! I hadn’t heard that, though I hope it’s true. Searching Google, I’m only finding the regular AI-generated pages that regurgitate common knowledge, then, 5 or 10 paragraphs in, say there’s no official news.
