Oshi no Ko – 11 [Final]
When I read the first reviews of Oshi No Ko, I wondered how it could maintain its momentum. The first episode more or less pegged the excitement-o-meter. Where does a show go from “pegged?” I was surprised at the enthusiastic response it continued to generate, especially among bloggers like FlareKnight from the site Anime Evo. I’ve read his reviews for a long time, and I know he’s not given to hyperbole. So how did he like the season finale? Well, you can see for yourself — and I think you’ll be glad you did!

Shaman King Review
Ready for an understatement? The anime industry has produced a lot of anime series over the years! I mean, a lot. I honestly have a sense of profound sadness that there are series I will never see — some I’ll never even know about — simply because I don’t have the time to explore. That’s why I love reviews like this one by DReager1 on the site DReader1.com. This review introduced me to Shaman King. I’d heard of it; I’d seen some of its characters in memes. But reading how passionately DReager1 spoke of it made me want to watch it. So, onto the backlog it goes! See what you think!

I Just Wanna Talk About Tsukumogami
Do you know anything about tsukumogami? I’d heard of them. I remember seeing an anime story here or there that included them. But I can’t say I appreciated them. That was before reading Irina’s post on her site I Drink and Watch Anime. Irina has a knack of explaining a topic in an empathetic way. Her writing helped me not only understand tsukumogami intellectually. She helped me appreciate them on an emotional level. I don’t think I’ll ever look at my computer keyboard in the same way again! See if you have a similar reaction!

Seasonal First Impressions: The Radiant Magic of YOHANE THE PARHELION -SUNSHINE IN THE MIRROR-
It’s the beginning of the Summer 2023 anime season, and I’m on the lookout for new series to review. I watched the first episode of Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror, and I almost decided to add it to my editorial calendar. But I sensed I was missing something, and something fundamental. So I passed on it. Then I read this review by Jane the Anime Witch on the site The Magic Planet. And now I know what I was missing! Not only did the review clue me in — it helped me better appreciate the episode, which is saying a lot — I already enjoyed it. Especially with the main character, Yoshiko Tsushima! See if you have a similar reaction!
The Otaku Exhibition
Oshi no Ko Has the Best Characters in Anime
How engaging was Oshi No Ko? We already looked at one review (see above). That review painted a very upbeat picture. This review by perseus54321 on the site The Otaku Exhibition focused on one specific aspect of the show: its characters. This is my favorite kind of review: written by a reviewer well-versed in critique, who nonetheless gushes about some aspect of the show — in this case, characters. The fiction that makes us drop our facades and pour what we really feel onto the page is my favorite kind of fiction. Seems that for perseus54321, Oshi No Ko qualifies! See if you agree!
