Welcome to My 5 Favorite Anime Blog Posts from 2023 Week 29!
Every week, I visit over 290 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These five posts are my favorite for the week! I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did!
You can see a list of the sites I check here: Massive List of Sites!
Anime Evo
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – 15
How are the Soul Reapers faring against the Quincy (in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Separation)? Not well. That’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? What’s a little less obvious is the tactical implications of the Quincy’s strategy. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy reading FlareKnight’s reviews like this one on Anime Evo. He has a talent for describing the action and its meaning in a way that elevates my understanding of an episode. I appreciate that in a review! See if you do, too!
The Con Artists
Hell’s Paradise – Episode 13
What made Hell’s Paradise so much fun to watch? There are number of reasons, and CONARTISTDAN brought up many of them in his review on the site The Con Artists. One of the reasons is the character Yuzuriha, and not only for the most obvious reason — as this post brings out! Did you see the final episode? See if your reaction was similar to CONARTISTDAN’s!
Merlin’s Musings
Handyman Saitou’s Best Life in Another World
I try to keep an eye out for reviews that can surprise me. Finding them is harder to do than you might think, given how much fiction I’ve consumed over the decades. But it’s still possible. Take this review by Merlin on the site Merlin’s Musings. I’d seen the previews for Handyman Saitou in Another World, and I had no inkling that it would be interesting at all. Then I read Merlin’s review. Guess who’s back log just increased by one? Yep, mine! See if you have a similar reaction!
The Otaku Author
Friday Fives (The Eminence in Shadow) – Five Best Fights
I’m always up for another post about The Eminence in Shadow. But I’m self-aware enough to know that I can’t just turn this into a weekly celebration of Alpha or Beta. At least, not until I can figure out a fresh take. Which I may or may not be doing. But that’s beside the point. The point is that Lynn, on this site The Otaku Author, came up with a unique take on the series: its five best fights. And, oh boy, did he pick some good ones! To this day, I feel bad for Iris… See if Lynn picked any of the battles that you enjoyed!
Shallow Dives in Anime
Oshi no Ko: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
There’s no denying the passion that Oshi No Ko cultivated during its run. It launched with an extra-length episode that set an incredibly high bar in terms of drama and impact. Then it went on to maintain that level throughout its run. But it did so by taking a difficult route, as Dewbond on the site Shallow Dives in Anime discusses in this post. What was this feat that the show pulled off? You’ll need to read the post to find out. And you’ll be glad you did!

Thanks for sharing. I could talk about The Eminence in Shadow for hours and hours, so it’s nice to know that someone is listening.
You’re welcome! I’m looking forward to reading anything else you care to write about that show!
It’s funny that you should mention that today…
I saw that post! Very cool:

At this point, I’m not sure how the reveal will live up to all of the conjecture! But I’m pretty sure it’s going to be cool!
