Confessions of an Overage Otaku
HOW TO COOK A SERIES: BEASTARS
I’ve often said that anime is art. I think most of you get it, so you don’t really need proof. But I found some for you anyway! It’s in the form of this post by The Overage Otaku on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku. The proof is in the form of one of The Overage Otaku’s trade-mark deep analysis of the subject matter — specifically, Beastars. Turns out it’s actually a new interpretation of a Shakespearean play! Not only that, but after he mentioned it, it was obvious — like all great insights. See if you agree!

What My Happy Marriage Gets Right About Cinderella Stories
One of the problems of living in an era of Disney films is that their telling pervades our culture — to the exclusion of the original stories. That’s a shame, because some of those older stories had a stronger emotional punch. Enter this post by Frog-kun on the site Frogkun.com. Frog-kun talks about what My Happy Marriage gets right in the context of the classic Cinderella story. This story goes where the Disney story did not — to the benefit of the story!

The Legendary Hero is Dead Season One Review: A Unique Idea Done Well Even With Some Pitfalls
Brace yourself: I’m watching a series that I’m not reviewing. Technically, it should be on my back list because it finished airing, but I only have episode to go. The series is The Legendary Hero is Dead! I went into it expecting a trashy romp. What I got instead is what Getmorexp described in his post on the site Get More XP. Yes, it had trashy parts. But what else it had surprised me — and Getmorexp, too! See if you have the same reaction!
I Drink and Watch Anime
ZOM 100 โ Episode 3
From time to time, I find a series — in this case, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead — whose properties are a perfect match for a reviewer — in this case, Irina from I Drink and Watch Anime. This show is smart and has exceptional emotional dynamic range, and Irina happens to excel at describing each. See what she has to say about the series’ third episode!
ZEROGAYA-KUN
Undead Girl Murder Farce Episode 4 Review: Captivating Cunning
I might be biased… No, scratch that. I am biased. I think Undead Murder Farce represents some of the best dialogue of any series airing. I’m defining “best” here as a combination of clever, in-character, and plot-relevant conversations. But that’s not the only thing going for the show, as this post by Miya Hanzo on the site ZEROGAYA-KUN shows. Like I said, I’m biased, but I think Miya Hanzo nailed what makes this series so much fun to watch! See if you agree.
