5 Favorite Anime Blog Posts from 2023 Week 44

Every week, I visit around 285 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These five posts are my favorites for the week! I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did!

You can see a list of the sites I check here: Massive List of Sites!

Anime Evo

GRIDMAN UNIVERSE

I still need to watch SSSS.Gridman. I know that for two reasons. First, I enjoy mech anime — and it has nothing to do with Rikka Takarada’s athleticism. Second, I just read FlareKnight’s review of GRIDMAN UNIVERSE on the site Anime Evo. FlareKnight has a real talent for sharing his enthusiasm about a show, and it’s on full display here. So much so that I want to watch an entire series just to get ready to watch this movie! See if you have a similar reaction!

I Drink and Watch Anime

Spy x Family episode 29 – Smart Cookie

Irina continues her coverage of Spy x Family Season 2 on the site I Drink and Watch Anime. Not only does she continue her unbroken string of delightful character insights, but she also chose the perfect GIF to illustrate this episode. I particularly liked how Irina talked about the extra serious motivations Anya had in this episode. I read this review after watching the episode, and seeing it through Irina’s eyes and comparing her reactions to mine was a lot of fun. See if you agree!

Kvasir369

Ancient Magus Bride: Season 2 – Episode 17 Review

Speaking of continuing coverage, Kvasir369 continued his coverage of Mahoutsukai no Yome Season 2 Part 2 and offered insights on the latest episode on the site Kvasir369. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love how Kvasir369 divides the review into a synopsis (a quite detailed one, too!), a review proper (with cool insights and everything), and a comparison of the anime to the manga (which deepens my appreciation of a series I already love). If you like the series at all, this is a review for you!

Otaku Sinh

When No One Knows What The Other Knows.. It Leads To? The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode 5 [Review]

There are two reviews this week where the series seems like it was tailor-made for the reviewer. The first is Otaku Sinh and the series The Eminence in Shadow Season 2, as you can see from his review on the site Otaku Sinh. Otaku Sinh get this show. He gets the humor, he gets the vibe. What’s even better, he can share his enthusiasm with us — and there’s a lot to share! His reviews also have a habit of featuring hilarious image captions, and they’re in peak form this week! Head on over and see what you think!

Shallow Dives in Anime

Shallow Dives in Anime Halloween Special: High School of the Dead

If it’s possible, I found an even better match than the previous article of a reviewer to a series. And that’s the pairing of Dewbond and High School of the Dead, as you can see in his recent post on Shallow Dives in Anime. I’ve collaborated with Dewbond on posts before, like our series covered the women of YU-NO. I know he’s not afraid to tackle ecchi series, so I was astonished to realize he hadn’t covered HOTD before! Well, the post is here now, and it’s everything I could hope. That series never gets old for me, and Dewbond lays out why.
