Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective Episode 6 Review – Do Psychic Powers Exist?
The series Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective was so not on my radar. I had to go to MAL to see when it aired. “Oh,” I thought, embarrassed at how out of touch I am. “It’s airing now.” I tell you, this year had been harder on my short term memory than… well, I can’t remember what. And stop laughing. It’s only a little funny! Fortunately, to help protect me from this year’s assault on my poor brain, I found this post by ecargmura on the site on the site Arum Journal. I mean, just look at the screen caps of Mofu Usaki — don’t they just make you want to know what’s going on in her life?

Uma Musume 3 – Episode 6 – Dia Faces Her Jinxes
Before I watched the first season of Uma Musume, I thought, “Cute anime horse girls? No way it’s going to be dramatic; but it might be something fun to kill time.” I admit: I was wrong. The series had no right to be as entertaining as it was. Now, Uma Musume 3 is out, and I had to wonder if it had the same kind of impact. Now I need wonder no longer — Chikorita157’s post on the site Chikorita157’s Anime Blog answered the question with concise style! Go see what I mean!

Ancient Magus Bride: Season 2 – Episode 18 Review
What makes a character compelling? What makes Philomela so interesting to me in The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Part 2? Questions like that bother me, and not only because I want to write characters that people care about. Since we met her, I’ve wanted to see Philomela shake off whatever it was that seemed to have broken her spirit. Why? Why do I care about her and not about other characters? Well, reading insightful reviews like this one by Kvasir369 on the site Kavsir369 help me frame the question. Often, it’s not about getting the answer, at least in the short term. It’s more about understanding what to ask. See if you find this review as helpful as I did!

The Eminence in Shadow (Episode 26) – John Smith
Did you see episode 26 of The Eminence in Shadow? I’m still processing what I saw. The satirical humor was still there, sure. Cid’s antics were as entertaining as usual. Delta even got a lot more screen time — which is always a ton of fun. But something happened in this episode that made me sit back and question just how I thought about this show. Lynn, in his review on the site The Otaku Author, noticed the same thing. Not only is his analysis compelling — his insights inspired some equally compelling comments! See if you had a similar reaction to this episode.

Shangri-La Frontier Episode 6 Review: Gaming Showdown
Shangri-La Frontier is another series that escaped my attention. I guess trying to write novels, hold down a full time career that’s more than full time (I work in security, which means I’m always working), and raising a family take a lot of time. Who knew? Well, fortunately, we are blessed with a vibrant anime review community that can help make me aware of what I’ve missed. Take this review by Miya Hanzo on the site Zerogaya-kun, for example. After reading this review, I know I want to watch the series. How do I know? What did Miya Hanzo say? There’s one way to find out!

TCrow, one scene in Re:zero’s first season for Episode 17 always made me question why it had occurred, and with my more recent speculation that the Witch Cult Gospels are not true future-prediction documents but documents merely connected to Echidna’s mind through magic that she can fill in with whatever she wants, I believe I finally have an answer why the White Whale blew Subaru away with its breath after chasing him for such an extended period of time with the intent to eat him.
We see in Season 2 that Pandora has some degree of control over the Black Serpent, one of the three great mabeasts that Daphne created hundreds of years ago, and that is why it accompanied her to Elior Forest. If she has such control over the Black Serpent, it is not a stretch that she could exert similar control over the White Whale. I therefore conclude that in Episode 17, Pandora saved Subaru by ordering the White Whale to leave him alone so that he could make it back to Roswaal’s mansion as he intended to warn of the threat of the Witch Cult.
I believe the point of that happening was to have Subaru try to tell Emilia about Return by Death so that he could indirectly cause her death when Satella could emerge from him to kill Emilia and have Puck admonish Subaru, leading to him wanting to run away with Rem, which led to the From Zero moment. I believe this loop also happened so that Subaru could one day figure out that the White Whale has a special mist/fog that erases someone from existence, which would be something he needed to know for the White Whale fight. I believe Echidna specifically instructed Pandora to have the White Whale leave so that Subaru could finally make progress toward defeating Petelgeuse. I do not believe that Pandora is Subaru’s enemy but that she is merely trying to make a future she and some other characters from 400 years ago wanted to happen be realized.
Re:ZERO’s world is one of those rare creations that feels like stuff’s going on in the background, out of sight. Your theory zeroes in on one possibility in that regard.
I have to wonder how much we’ll find out in the end — if Tappei Nagatsuki decides to show us! My luck, he’ll tell us, but with subtle clues from across all seasons. Which means I’ll have missed one of the critical clues!
Well, I have a high level of confidence you won’t miss it, so once all is revealed, I hope you’ll explain it!
My blog is sort of inactive but never dormant!!!!
Also, thanks for the recommendations. It’s good to see how others are doing while I was away.
You’re welcome! These were only my five favorite — there were a lot of posts that didn’t make the list that were also very enyouable!
Thanks for mentioning that Shokamoka’s Blog of Wonders is active again. After six months of no posts, I mark most sites inactive. Twice I year (or so), I go back through to see if any went active again. Glad to see you’re posting again! I changed Shokamoka’s Blog of Wonders’ status back to active.
Aw you don’t have to. Thank you however!
I always wonder how traffic works on blogs as I’m no pro at SEO.
I noticed there’s this site that automatically tracks all blog posts from animeblogs and mine is apparently one of those. I’m hella surprised to see that you do it all manual when I checked out your list…
If you’re bored, I wrote a post on SEO:

It’s the approach I try to take — I hope ithelps!
About the automatic site, are you talking about https://aniblogtracker.com/? I’m not sure how they setup the site, but I like it. Makes finding new sites a little easier.
I keep my manual, because I think its selling point is that it’s curated. That is to say, I confirm the sites are active, aren’t scammy, etc. Once it’s setup, keeping it up to date isn’t too hard.
That’s correct!
I’m going to head into your post and learn something now, thank you.
I’m glad that Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective is now on your radar! It’s a very quirky mystery show written by the creator of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Thanks for the mention!
Dr. Usaki’s bandages really do make you wonder what the heck is going on with her life and how she became a neurosurgeon.
You’re welcome!
And she’s a neurosurgeon? Now I want to watch the show even more. Thinking of that woman, who looks like a nervous wreck, performing brain surgery? That’s… something!
Yep! She’s a neurosurgeon and a rather renowned one in-universe.
Seriously, even after watching that episode I still wonder how she does brain surgery without maiming herself and others! My favorite Dr. Usaki moment was when she somehow got the end of her neck bandage wrapped around a railing! How did she even do that? Too funny!
Thanks for sharing. I think that episode is going to be a game changer. It’s going to be wild seeing where we go from here.
It really is. Seeing Alpha like that… man, that hurt. If it were anyone else, I’m sure she’s come back stronger. But Cid? I’m anxious to see how she responds!
Did you see the short about Delta’s visit to the Lawless City?
https://youtu.be/RPL2uS8rgZk?si=k2wMfDb_7r0MQSEt
The Reddit thread claimed these are canon. If so, wow. Seeing that incident from Delta’s perspective only made me like her more.
I had not seen those. Should keep me entertained for a while. Thanks
