SAEKANO THE MOVIE: FINALE REVIEW

I watched the original series Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend a long time ago. Well, it seems that way. But there was something that struck me about the series, and it has a lot to do with answering the question, do you have a waifu? That question might make you cringe away from the screen, or it might make you smile fondly. What’s the link? Well, this post by DoubleSama from the site DoubleSama makes the connection in the context of the movie Saekano the Movie: Finale. At first, I was like, “How does that work?” Then I was like, “Oh!” And finally, I was like, “That makes perfect sense!” I’ll bet you get to the third reaction faster than I did!

Ancient Magus Bride: Season 2 – Episode 23 Review

I’m going to level with you: while I really respect and endorse anyone’s opinion if it’s expressed honestly, there are times when I just want to revel in an episode. There are some series, like The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Part 2, that I like so much that I just want to read someone tell me how much they loved it, too. I get that kind of enjoyment from posts like this one by KVASIR369 on the site Kvasir369. What’s really, really cool about KVASIR369’s posts are the extras — not only a synopsis, but also a review proper and a comparison of the anime to the manga. I not only get to just enjoy the episode. I get to learn more about it! Talk about a great combination!

PHOENIX: EDEN 17 – FINALLY, SOME WEIRD SCI FI

According to my MAL profile, I’ve watched 537 series consisting of 8,158 episodes. After I passed 300 series, I noticed something: it’s getting harder to surprise me. It’s rare I come across a review for a series, movie, or ONA. And given that I write science fiction novels and read and watch that genre voraciously, a surprising science fiction anime is unheard of. Until this week! This week, Scott from Mechanical Anime Reviews reviewed Phoenix: Eden 17, and based on this review, I’m alarmed something this interesting could slip past my filters! Clearly, I have work to do. While I get at it, go see what Scott had to say about Phoenix: Eden 17!

Otaku Sinh

Getting Out of the Depths of Despair! The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode 11 [Review]

Remember what I said about sometimes wanting to just revel in a positive review about a series I adore? Well, that applies to The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 in a big way. The series is right in my sense of humor’s strike zone. Plus, I really enjoy strong female characters, and Shadow Garden more than checks that box. Every week, I look forward to reading Sinh’s review on Otaku Sinh. This week, the review really hit the spot — it contained a great summary of what happened, Sinh’s reaction to the high points, and even an alternative narrative in the form of creative captions for the images. If you like this series at all, I think you’ll get a kick out of this post!

Psycho Pass Review (Spoiler Free)

I wish I had more time. And my daughter still wants a pony, even though she’s all growed up and brought my grandson into the world! Why am I lamenting my lack of time now? Because of series like Psycho Pass. I’ve started watching, and I never dropped it. But I never finished it, either. This week, I came across a review by YOMU on the site Umai Yomu Anime Blog reminded me — yet again — why I want to finish this series! I gotta say, I have no idea how YOMU writes such interesting reviews while not including a single spoiler. That’s some serious review skill! Go see if you agree!

  1. Thanks for mention again.

I dedicate a lot of my time trying to find things related to older properties and sometimes they show up in unexpected places like hulu and Netflix or Tubi.

Please let me know what you think!
