Every week, I visit over 245 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These are my five favorite posts for the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

New Feature Thanks to Bloop!
In my review of Tower of God Season 2 Episode 6, Bloop worked up a demo of using an RSS feed widget to give bloggers a little more exposure in this post. I’m going to give the technique a try over the next couple of weeks to see how it works! I’d love to hear your opinion in the comments!
Thanks for the suggestion, Bloop!
Anime Evo
Checking in with Mushoku Tensei S2
In last week’s 5 Favorite Blog Posts from 2024, I celebrated FlareKnight’s review of Jobless Reincarnation Season 1 (on the site Anime Evo). I hoped he would get around to writing a review of Jobless Reincarnation Season 2. And guess what I saw when I visited Anime Evo this week! Yep! FlareKnight has written a review for season 2, and it’s everything I hoped it would be. He even spoke well of both Sylphie and Roxy — which are, of course, prerequisites for a believable review! See if FlareKnight talked about what you liked in the second season.

Character Analysis: Ai Hoshino
You might have heard of Oshi No Ko. Actually, it’s hard not to have heard of it, given how much has been written or said about the series. When I saw that The Overage Otaku, on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku, had written about Ai Hoshino, I had to wonder what new take he would have on the character. Because you know he’s not going to just regurgitate what others have said about the character. And, not surprisingly, I was right! I really enjoy how he can perform both an in-depth and easy to understand analysis of a character. This post is yet more proof!

Jon Spencer Reviews
I Decided to Pull the (World) Trigger
I enjoyed World Trigger a lot — up to a point. That point was a stretch of episodes that lost my interest. When I read this review by Jon Spencer on the site Jon Spencer Reviews, I learned two things. Well, learned one and remembered another. I learned that those episodes that I didn’t like? They were filler! I feel kinda vindicated. And second, I remembered that I really enjoy Jon Spencer’s comfortable pacing and lucid analysis! This review helped me appreciate the episodes I had watched, and it made me want to finish the series (skipping the filler episodes). See if you have a similar reaction!

Symphogear Episode 04: Falling Tears
Ragashingo, on the site Ragashingo.com, has been reviewing Symphogear. That’s a series I wished got more attention, because it’s really hard to get a super-hero/musical fusion to work well, and I think this series pulled it off. But I didn’t decide to celebrate this review just because it was about Symphogear. I really enjoyed how Ragashingo organized the review. My favorite sections dealt with favorite scenes and themes. I enjoyed reading the whole review, and its organization helped me find my favorite parts to reread quickly. I also appreciated the review’s treatment of Hibiki!

Shallow Dives in Anime
The Summer of Love VI with Attack on Titan: Attack on Titan’s Eren Yeager: Just Some Stupid Fucking Kid.
I’ve been looking forward to reading Dewbond’s opinion of Eren Yeager since he started his Summer of Love. When I checked Shallow Dives in Anime this week, I saw it was time! The cool thing about Dewbond’s reviews is that I know I’m getting his unvarnished and honest opinion. I don’t even care if I agree or disagree with it. For me, it’s enough to know I’m seeing how another human being actually thinks. After reading this post, I can say with certainty that I know how Dewbond views Eren! And it’s a very, very convincing perspective. There’s a good conversation in the comments, too.

TCrow, Season 3 of Re:zero’s first part (Arc 5) will be 8 episodes starting October 2 and then another 8 episodes starting sometime in February. I guess with White Fox not being a huge studio it can’t handle working on 2 series with 30+ episodes at the same time, and that’s why it’s splitting Re:zero’s first part into 2 to ensure that neither Sengoku Youko nor Re:zero are rushed and end up being bad adaptations.
Still no word about Season 3’s second part yet (Arc 6), but I assume we’ll get news about that in 2025.
Interesting. I hope your interpretation of why they’re splitting it is right — it means they’re taking the adaptation seriously! I’m really looking forward to it.
Thanks for including me this time. I’m glad you enjoyed the article, I spent a long time on that one.
You’re welcome. And it paid off — I enjoyed reading your post quite a bit!
Ooo, I like that added extra posts from the authors! Very nice.
I’m glad you like it! Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for the shout out crow!! if any are interested on how to do the rss feed, let me know, I’ll show you how, it isn’t difficult and you can use it to show case other bloggers too! 😀
You’re welcome! I began including the RSS feed i this post, and I like the effect. I have to add it after writing the content; otherwise, even on an Apple Mac Studio, the UI lags hard. Might not be the RSS feed alone; might be WordPress’s widget for columns.
Gutenberg and I just don’t see eye to eye.
Thanks again for the suggestion!@
