Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 3rd Season Episode 2

If there’s one thing I’ve come to expect from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 (or any of its seasons!), it’s that there’s going to be a lot of brutal death. And most of it will center on Subaru Natsuki (he who Ram calls Barusu). But there are other things I expect, too, and I was happy to see that Shadow, in this review on AngryAnimeBitches Anime Blog, talked about all of them. My favorite part of the review was Shadow’s discussion of Emilia’s role, for reasons that are obvious once you read the post! So, please go check out it!

Dandadan Episode 2 Review – No Balls

I needed Dandadan in my life. I needed characters like Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura in my life. The energy this show brings to the screen is so far from reality that it’s like balm for my soul. But, it’d be kinda dull if balmy was all it was (so to speak). ecargmura, in this review on ARUM JOURNAL, talked about what made episode 2 so engaging. Not only did I enjoy reading ecargmura’s review; I enjoyed the image captions, too! See what you think!

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V Episode 2 Review

Between seasons, I forgot a bedrock truth about the DanMachine series. Watching the first two episodes of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V reminded me of this truth, and it is this: even putting the goddesses aside, that world is populated by some of the most beautiful women in anime! Given the topic of this season, that seems appropriate to bring up. This review by DoubleSama on the site DoubleSama touches on that topic, indirectly. More importantly, it features the kind of conjecture I’ve come to expect (and enjoy!) from DoubleSama’s reviews. How’s this season shaping up? You know what you have to do to find out!

Anime: Let This Grieving Soul Retire, Ep. 1

Imagine me holding my thumb and forefinger about a centimeter apart (that’s half an inch for those of you following along using Imperial units). That’s now close I came to reviewing Let This Grieving Soul Retire. Now, since I like you reading my posts, I want to protect you from a shock. Are you sitting down? Braced? Then here goes: the show’s not on my backlog. I’m actually watching it as it airs!

See? Aren’t you glad you were sitting?

Anyway, I’m enjoying the series. In terms of reads reviews of it, I’m looking for my usual celebratory content or perspectives that raise an interesting or unique take. To this series, I’m adding another stipulation: one must not speak ill of Tino Shade (and the main character, Krai Andrey, is kind of on thin ice in that regard — dude needs to treat Tino better!). I’m happy to say that ChibiChonk’s review on Filthy Casual for Life meets or exceeds all Crow minimum standards for review goodness! And that seemingly negative bit she said about Tino? It was offset by a narrative insight, so it’s all good.

Macross Plus: When Top Gun met Step Up 2: The Streets

It’s hard enough to keep up with seasonal anime. It’s double tough to try to watch series from years gone by. There are a growing number of them, after all, and many seem to have vocal and enthusiastic fandoms. I flat out don’t have the time to go through all of them! That’s why I enjoyed reading Dewbond’s post about Macross Plus on the site Shallow Dives in Anime. I’d heard of it, but it was just one of dozens or hundreds of aging series that I might be interested in. Thanks to Dewbond’s no-nonsense review, I now know that the series belongs on my backlog! So — plunk! — on it goes! See what you think!

  1. This time I plan on making 2 separate posts, one for Season 3 Episode 3 and the other for how it fits into my main theory about there being a grand plan from centuries ago as it might be overwhelming to go in length about it in my post for the episode since it’s only tangentially relevant to the episode even if someone has made that connection themself.

    1. I liked your analysis! You mentioned this loop was 10-15 minutes, and I noticed that, too. Feels like this is the shortest loop yet! Really amps up the urgency.

  2. I’ll be posting on Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 2 later this evening. I’ve had a lot on my plate recentlym

  3. Thanks for the feature!

Dandadan is really enjoyable, especially for someone who likes supernatural elements in a story!

Please let me know what you think!
