Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga Episode 4 Review – Shura’s Reality
I’ve been keeping up with Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga this season. Unusual for me, I know. But I’ve enjoyed the series from its first season. The mix of characters keeps me coming back, and its fascinating take on theology tickles a fancy of mine. Speaking of characters, as I watched this season’s fourth episode, I wondered how 7mononoke from Anime Rants would react to what happened to Shura Kirigakure. I like writing female characters, but I’m always afraid I’ve gotten it wrong (though I’m ecstatic when readers tell me one of their favorite characters from my novels is Matsushita Sachi!). I trust 7mononoke’s perspective on these things. Well, I don’t have to wonder anymore, because 7mononoke’s opinion is in the post! I enjoy the insightful commentary, and I think you will, too!

Dandadan Episode 5 Review – A New Day At School
After the frenetic battle in episode 4, I wondered if Dandadan would give us a dull episode, or at least a reduction in quality. I feel kinda embarrassed to admit that, seeing that no, episode 5 did not, in fact, reduce anything at all. I was just being cynical again. Well, it had a touch less physical action, but a lot still happened (though may I just say that I feel for poor Ken Takakura?). Like what? Glad you asked, because this review by ecargmura, on the site ARUM JOURNAL, did a fantastic job of laying it all out. Cool insights about Momo Ayase, too! Go check it out and see what you think!

Anime: The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan
Ever start watching a show and wonder if you like it? Like you’re sitting there as you watch it and think, “Okay, this is pretty cool.” But when it’s done, you can’t quite get excited about the next episode? That’s where I am with The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan. That’s when I like to compare notes with writers like ChibiChonk (on the site FILTHY CASUAL FOR LIFE). Not because I want someone to tell me what to think. But because I want to read another perceptive opinion. I want to see what I might have missed; or maybe get a confirmation of something I thought I saw. ChibiChonk’s review convinced me I need to give the show a little longer to percolate. See if you come to the same conclusion!

Golden Time: How Insecurity Splits Oneself
After I finished watching ToraDora, I wanted to find something else that Yuyuko Takemiya had written. After all, ToraDora’s one of the handful of series I’ve rated a 10 on My Anime List. I found out that Yuyuko Takemiya had also written Golden Time, so I gave it a shot. My reaction to that show is complicated. It’s like I react to a different facet of the show everything time I think about it. Chris Kincaid’s review on Japan Powered not only reminded me of several of those internal discussions; it goes beyond them and touches on some themes I hadn’t considered. I want to rewatch the show now that I’ve read Chris Kincaid’s insightful review. Go see if you have a similar reaction!

Re-Dive: Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom: Near and Dear to the Heart
The list of series I’ve watched has a couple of gaps that I’m rather ashamed of. One of them is Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom. Well, it’d be more honest to say the gap consists of most of the series dealing with the Gundam universe. Please don’t tell my son-in-law — he’s quite fond of those series! Do you know who else is fond of those series? Dewbond from Shallow Dives in Anime, that’s who! One of the cool things about Dewbond’s reviews is his brand of objectivity. Yes, he liked the series, but he’s able to rationally analyze its strengths and weaknesses in spite of how he felt about it. I appreciate that in a review!

Interesting take on Capella. Makes perfect sense, from a psychological point of view.
This series has no shortage of amazing characters.

This makes me happy! I hope you end up liking the show. I mainly like Noel because I am a sucker for those bad boys LOL.
I just finished another episode (I think I’m one back), and year, “bad boys” is a good description! But I don’t think less of him for it. Honestly, I see things from his perspective.
Makes me glad I live in times like these when I don’t have to make choices like Noel is having to make!
So far, at least. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
Thanks, I really do appreciate the mention as well as the fact that you take my points seriously. It always makes me happy to be mentioned in another blog~
