Dandadan Episode 8 Review – One Ball Down, One More To Go

Dandadan is doing something I have a hard time explaining — it’s giving us strong emotions and vigorous battles, all in the context of trying to retrieve the three most vital components of Ken “Okarun” Takakura’s manhood (and if you argue that the main is the main component, I won’t push back — just work with me here). The writer in me keeps asking how Yukinobu Tatsu, the writer, managed to pull it off. That’s why I like posts like this from ecargmura on the site ARUM JOURNAL. The post describes both what happened and ecargmura’s reaction — which pretty much sums up why the show’s so successful! Because it’s all about engaging the audience. See if ecargmura talks about your favorite parts of this episode!

FILTHY CASUAL FOR LIFE

Anime: The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan, Ep. 5

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I don’t know exactly why I like the series The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan. One minute I think I detest the lead character, Noel Stollen because of his apparent cruelty. The next, I’m cheering on his victory against some evil-doer or other. Maybe there’s a utilitarianism about him that I admire. Or maybe it’s the things that ChibiChonk talks about in this review on FILTHY CASUAL FOR LIFE. Not “maybe” — I think ChibiChonk is on to something! Especially with her opinion of Alma! Go see if you agree!

Cosmos Of Sailor

The original Sailor Moon was one of the first anime I can recall seeing. I think I saw the Americanized version, which means I missed out on a lot. Though I wasn’t in the target demographic, I could understand its appeal. That was even more clear when I watched Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal on its first run back in 2014. Based on this review by Lita on Lita Kino Anime Review, I should have watched the subsequent releases. Lita speaks eloquently about the impact the shows had, especially when binged, which made the emotional impact was more pure and concentrated. Just what was that impact? You know what you have to do to find out!

[Spoiler-Free Review] Farming Life in Another World

Farming Life in Another World was one of those series I completely overlooked when it first came out. I only recently watched it, and its impact shocked me! I’m not saying it was controversial. I’m not saying it was an action-fest. I’m saying I enjoyed it so much I was shocked. What did I enjoy about it? Well, this post by Matt on the site Matt-in-the-Hat lays it out in a very entertaining way! Even better, Matt does so in a way that doesn’t spoil anything! I’m always amazed when a reviewer like Matt can write an enjoyable review without spoiling anything!

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V episode 8

I started watching Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V with a mounting concern. This season decided to mess with the show’s core dynamic: Hestia’s interactions with Bell. That’s risky — and it’s a move the writer, Fujino Omori, was absolutely a genius to make. I couldn’t look way. I had to know how Bell and company were going to overcome Freya’s plan. That’s just the start of what makes this season so good. And episode 8? Well, here’s the point where I direct you to a post by Theron on the site USA Anime. Theron understands the series at a depth and with a breadth I’ve not encountered elsewhere. This review frames the episode in wonderful emotional detail. If this series is of any interest to you at all, you should head over and give it a read!
