5 Favorite Anime Blog Posts from 2024 Week 52

Every week, I visit over 235 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These are my five favorite posts for the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

You can see a list of the sites I check here: Massive List of Sites!

Seasonal Previews

Several sites ran their Winter 2025 Previews. These posts are a lot of fun to read, and they help me decide what to review. Please check out:

Best Anime of 2024!

I don’t do much to celebrate the holidays here on Crow’s World of Anime. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but the older I get, the less excited I am about the passing of another year. It’s like I feel like I’m pressing my luck, you know? But some bloggers, like momomanamu on the site Anime Hanabi, are blessedly free of that kind of negativity and do celebrate. In this post, momomanamu names her top five anime from 2024. I would have put three and four a little higher, but hey, it’s not my list! Go see how your favorite series fared!

Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga Episode 12 – What A Finalé!

I’ve been a fan of Blue Exorcist since the anime debuted. That’s one reason I’ve enjoyed following 7mononoke’s coverage of Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga on the site Anime Rants. Another reason is that 7mononoke really gets into a series. She goes beyond merely related what happened and makes narrative connections to previous episodes, as well as conducts deep dives into individual characters and their relationships. The latter is on full display in this review. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, so please do go see what she said about Rin and Yukio!

The World God Only Knows: Goddesses Review

It’s been more than a decade since The World God Only Knows: Goddesses aired. Man — where does time go? Yeah, I know, into the past. It was a rhetorical question! Anyway, in the last episode, there’s a wrap up scene that I don’t want to describe because it’d give too much away. But it was, literally, breathtakingly beautiful. So, when I saw that DoubleSama had a review of the series on the site DoubleSama, I had to check it out. I’m glad I did! He talked about the things that endeared the series to me. He even mentioned the one aspect that I found just a little disappointing! Please do go check out what that might be!

Merry Christmas, Kirito: The Red-Nosed Reindeer of SAO

I try not to think about the third episode of Sword Art Online. It’s not because it was a “bad” episode. It’s because it was too good. Watching it felt like taking a kick in the gut. The reveal at the end was so poignant that it left me an emotional wreck for hours. I got over it, but man! It stung! Fortunately, Matt, on the site Matt-in-the-Hat, has a sterner constitution than I do! He was able to take the episode and frame it in a more positive, if still somber, light. Hopeful stuff — perfect for the holidays!

Dandadan Episode 12 Recap and Review

Dandadan was one of those series that was so enjoyable to watch that I became increasingly nervous that the show would stumble. I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop! I forget at which point I accepted that show was simply well-constructed and a blast to watch. However, in the back of my mind, I wondered: would it stick the landing? Would it end the season on a strong note? Or would it plant its face in the dirt? Well, this post by Jiraiyan on the site Otaku Orbit, answered the question in an entertaining way. Go see if you agree with his conclusions!

  1. Thank you for mentioning me and my recent post 🙂
I had a fun time writing this and this was something I wanted to do for this Christmas season. I am going to do my best and keep writing so I can get featured again. Once again, thank you 🙂

    1. You’re welcome! I appreciated how you approached that episode — it’s a personal favorite, even if it hits so hard. Or maybe because it does so!

I’m looking forward to reading your posts in 2025!

      1. I’ll do my best to keep writing and hopefully I’ll keep you entertained this year. 🙂

This is one of those episodes that I think about near Christmas time. After watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, I wanted to do something special around this time. I could go on on this post, but I would be rambling on lol.

Please let me know what you think!
