5 Favorite Anime Blog Posts from 2025 Week 01

Every week, I visit over 230 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These are my five favorite posts for the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

You can see a list of the sites I check here: Massive List of Sites!

FlareKnight’s Top Ten Anime Series of 2024

Looking back at 2024, I have there were a lot of series that were enjoyable to watch. So many, in fact, that it’s hard to remember them all — even the good ones! That’s one of the reasons I like reading year-end “best of” style posts like this one from FlareKnight on the site Anime Evo. I won’t spoil the surprise by disclosing any of the series that FlareKnight listed. I’ll just say that I thoroughly endorse several of his selections, especially positions ten, six, three, two, and one. The others were a blast to watch, too! Go see if you agree!

Most Shocking Anime Moments in 2024

There’s a feature on my site called Caw Out Awards. I tried to call out amazing moments in series I wasn’t reviewing. I liked that idea, and I hope to reinvigorate it soon (my last one was over two years ago — yikes!). Until then, please let me direct your attention to something every bit as cool in this post by Roderick J “Jay” Friz on the site D&A Anime Blog. Roderick J “Jay” Friz has selected some truly shocking moments from 2024 — so much so that I don’t mind admitting I got goosebumps just by reading the titles of most of them. What a great way to look back on 2024!

Happy New Year!—Character of the Year has been Chosen!

With the number of memorable characters from 2024, I went into this post by Hanime on Anime on the site Hanime on Anime with two thoughts in mind. First, I wondered how in the world Hanime on Anime would narrow the selection down to just one — what a challenge! And second, I went in thinking that I’d give the selection wide latitude, given the large pool of candidates! After reading the post, though, I honestly think Hanime on Anime made the right choice, and for all the right reasons! Go see if her selection’s close to the character you’d choose!

Seasonal First Impressions: Battle Girl Acid Ramen – What Even Is MOMENTARY LILY?

The beginning of a new season of anime is a very delicate time (with apologies to the beginning of David Lunch’s version of Dune). I’m personally anxious that I’ll miss watching a great show; or I’ll start watching a show and realize I’d made a terrible mistake! That’s why I look forward to reading Salix’s posts on The Magic Planet. Even if we don’t see eye-to-eye on a particular series, Salix’s reviews are still extremely helpful because Salix doesn’t just express an opinion; Salix explains that opinion. Those insights help me decide what shows to give a chance — especially if it’s not a show I’d likely watch (like Momentary Lily). Go read the post and see what I mean!

Favourite Isekai Anime (30 Days of Anime – Years 1 to 5) – Day 17

Lynn is celebrating the fifth blogoversary for his site The Otaku Author. He’s doing so by looking back over the last five years and picking shows that match a certain category for each year. This post deals with his favorite isekai, which really appealed to me. We have similar tastes in anime (which I hope he takes as a compliment!), so I wondered which shows he would pick. And wouldn’t you know it? It was a clean sweep — I can heartily endorse each selection he made! Especially years one, two, three, four, and five. Which is all of them! Go see if you have a similar reaction!

  1. Lynn’s 30 days of anime post are so cool. I’ve been drooling over the post titles for days now, but I’m planning to hold off reading them until all 30 posts are out, and then I’m going to binge read them all in one post reading marathon! It’s going to be an epic post read!
