Medalist S2 โ 04
Did you see Alysa Liu’s performance at the Olympics in figure skating? It was amazing. This is probably going to sound really strange, but it’s been a long time since a live sporting event has moved me as much as a favorite scene of fiction. I had just watched her performance when I came across FlareKnight’s post on Anime Evo about the fourth episode of Medalist season 2. The way FlareKnight described one of the character’s skating performance reminded me of that YouTube video. Alysa Liu’s performance reminded me of the heights sports can reach, under the right conditions, and in the right hands. FlareKnight’s post reminded me that anime can do the same thing! Go see what I mean!

Angelic Layer Episode 7
Sometimes, I think the viewer/reader part of my brain fixates too much on individual moments. It’s like my love for them sometimes blinds me to larger issues with a show. But I’m a bit too old to change my habits now, and I don’t want to, anyway. If I want to be a stickler for structure, I’ll turn off my reader/view and engage the writer. Which I don’t want to do unless I’m writing. That’s why the reader/viewer part really enjoyed this post from momomanamu on the site Anime Hanabi about Angelic Layer. Sometimes a single moment can hit so hard that it defines the episode. It sounds like that’s what happened here. What moment? Who did it involve? There’s one way to find out!

Hellโs Paradise Season 2 Episode 6 Review
I’ve really enjoyed Hell’s Paradise season 2. It has all the over-the-top characteristics I loved from the first season. To that equation, the series added more complex character development and interactions. It’s also delivered some seriously cool moments, like the ones 7mononoke describes in her review on Anime Rants. I particularly enjoyed how she talked about some of what happened to two of my favorite characters, Gabimaru and Yuzuriha. Go see if she talked about your favorite parts of the episode!

Anime: What My Favorite Anime Says About Me
I have to wonder about my own tastes when it comes to anime. For example, when I finished watching Charger Girl Ju-den Chan and didn’t hate it, I began to question my life choices. On the other hand, I’m proud to announce that I adored Re:CREATORS and will happily, without embarrassment, discuss it with anyone. It’s in the latter spirit that ChibiChonk, on the site Filthy Casual for Life, takes a step back from her own favorite anime and asks what it says about her. First, I’ll say that I think she has excellent taste. Second, I think you should head on over and see if you agree!

A Valentineโs Day Introspection From The Other Side of The Fence: 100-Kano and Too Much of A Good Thing?
I just mentioned one show that made me question my life’s choices. Another might be The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You. I mean, a harem anime with four or five women raises eyebrows. But a harem anime with a hundred girlfriends? Who thought was a good idea? And why do I like it so much? Well, it turns out infinitezenith, from the site The Infinite Zenith, asked the same question. And he answered it — clearly and in depth! I don’t want to give away what he says, so I’ll just note that I came away from the article thinking maybe there’s hope for me yet.
