How to Cook a Series: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Did you ever watch an episode or a series, enjoy it thoroughly, and then take a step back to ask yourself why you liked it? That happened to me with Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. i watched it on a whim and didn’t expect to stick with it. Then, I realized part of it: it reminded me of Haganai: I don’t have many friends. That wasn’t the only factor, of course. There were others. I found all of them and more in this post by The Overage Otaku on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku. Not only that, but the post has my favorite quote of the week: “So he shoots from the lip.” Who? Who shoots that way? You’ll have to read that article to find out!

Mashle-Magic and Muscles: You’re an Anime Protagonist, Harry!

I missed watching Mashle: Magic and Muscles with it came out. It’s not like I decided not to watch it; I just didn’t decide to watch it. I haven’t thought about it since I didn’t decide to watch it. But this week, I came across Hanime on Anime’s post about the series on the site Hanime on Anime. I really, really enjoyed how Hanime on Anime discussed the main character, Mash Burnedead. He seems like the kind of character I could relate to! See what you think.

Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 7

I have got to get caught up on Solo Leveling. That’s factually true. But it’s misleading. The honest version of that sentence would be, “I have to start watching Solo Leveling.” Just trying to keep thing open and transparent among us. I’ve wanted to watch this show for a long time. Now, Jiraiyan’s post on Otaku Orbit gave me another reason to watch: an exciting description of an episode from the second season and an exciting description of Esil Radiru. There’s just something fascinating about how that name goes with the character design. And the backlog short list grows!

DanMachi V – 15 (Fin) – Letting Go to Hold On

The last I’d heard, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V had postponed its last episode or two into April. So, I was very surprised to come across this post by magicalchurlsukui on the site RABUJOI. But I’m really glad I did! Because after reading this review of the episode, I’m more resolved than ever to watch this as soon as possible!

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V episode 15 (season finale)

And if I didn’t want to see this episode enough, I found Theron’s post on USA Anime about the season finale. I’ve always appreciated the knowledge of the lore that Theron brings to his DanMachi reviews. Not only that, but I enjoyed his take on the ending. I wonder how little sleep I can get away with so I could watch the episode tonight…

  1. Well, Episode 64 of Re:Zero certainly shone a light on some of what happened regarding the Astrea family, and it seems Wilhelm was not as bad of a husband as I thought in light of what actually happened to Theresia. I’ll be making more of a character-focused post this time since there appeared to be 0 foreshadowing, but there was a lot to digest from Wilhelm and Theresia, and even a bit from Heinkel and Reinhard.

  2. Something I didn’t include in my write-up initially for Episode 63 of Re:Zero is that the beginning of the scene with Capella and Al showed their shadows fighting with each other and Al being pierced through by an attack and continuing the fight anyway with no injuries, showing that death is indeed not the end for him since it appeared he came back to life. But we are still no closer to figuring out what his powers are.

    1. Hmmm… maybe I misinterpreted it. It’s hard to tell whether it was Al or Capella who took the blow I was thinking of since that blow was obscured by a pillar.
