Until Next We Meet, 100 Girlfriends!

It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a comedy as much as I’ve enjoyed The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2. That because comedy’s hard to get right in general, and there are tropes that some comedies use that really don’t resonate with me. This series, though, has only Crow Certified tropes! This review from Roderick J “Jay” Friz on the site D&A Anime Blog makes the case that the final episode of this season doesn’t just get it right — it makes “getting it right” look easy! Go see what you think of how he treated this episode!

Character of the Month: Mash Burnedead

I have yet to watch Mashle: Magic and Muscles, which is not itself noteworthy. Anymore, my time is so limited that I have to make appointments to take breaths deeper than normal. But this post from Hanime on Anime on the site Hanime on Anime got me thinking about more than just whether or not I want to watch the show. Hanime on Anime brought up a perspective about its main character, Mash Burnedead, that I thought make the entire series make perfect sense — dramatically and thematically. The way Hanime on Anime described it made the point so clear! Go see what you think!

Merlin’s Musings

The Ossan Newbie Adventurer Pursues His Dreams After Age 30

In case you’re wondering, no, I haven’t seen The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party, Became Invincible. Yes, I now want to watch it after Merlin’s review on the site Merlin’s Musings. You probably expect that because I’m celebrating this review. What really sold me on this post was its discussion of Rick Gladiatol. I don’t want to spoil anything, though if you know that I remember a time when I looked on a 5.25″ floppy diskette and exclaimed, “360 whole kilobytes? Wow!” you probably have an idea of what Merlin talked about in his post. But I think you’ll enjoy heading over and making sure!

Shallow Dives in Anime

The 100 Girlfriends who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You Season 2: Dewbond still Really x 5 loves this show.

Dewbond, on the site Shallow Dives in Anime, just dropped his review of the second season of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2. That should be cause for celebration, right? But the review came within it a huge problem. See, I want to talk about why this show was so darned much fun to watch. But I can’t! Because Dewbond explained it so well, and so clearly, that if I say anything, I’ll spoil his review! And that’s one hundred and eighty degrees away from what I want to do! So, while my self control remains intact, head over and see what you think!

502nd G-View: Momentary Lily

What makes a video a classic? The song I Melt With You by Modern English wasn’t very popular when it was released, but now it’s one of the defining videos of the 1980s. Which started 45 years ago. You should insert a pause here why I attempt to shake off a severe depression. Annnnndddd…. I’m back. We can ask a similar question about an anime series. What make it a classic? That’s what OG-Man, on the site The Yuri Empire, just asked about the series Momentary Lily. What was the answer? I’ll let you read it for yourself. But I’ll say I found the argument persuasive!

  1. TCrow, Kowloon Generic Romance had an amazing first episode. I was completely blown away with how well-made it was, not that the production quality if really high or anything as it wasn’t, but the character writing, setting, and the premise are working in tandem to make this work really shine.

    1. I’m hearing tons of good stuff about this series. You just confirmed what I’ve been hearing about the characters, too!

  2. TCrow, I’ll try to catch up on my write-ups for Kusuriya no Hitorigoto by Monday night. For this latest episode (Episode 37), I very much side-eye the speculation around Loulan being pregnant as based on all that we’ve seen in Seasons 1 and 2, there is no indication to believe that Loulan is pregnant.

    1. I really have to start watching this show. But, man, I thought my time was limited before. I’m at a dead run from 5:00AM until 11:00PM, and I only have a few gaps here and there to watch anything. I really wish the USA had embraced mass transit. I would love to sit in a train on the way to work and watch stuff! On the plus side, I listen to a lot of audio books this way!

Please let me know what you think!
