Every week, I visit over 225 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in anime or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These are my five favorite posts for the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi – 03
There are certain kinds of stories I only see in anime. I think you know what I mean — stories where siblings explore relationships that we — at least here in the west — generally consider to be less than tasteful. Remember OreImo? Well, things have come a long way since them. Well, “long” might be the wrong word. But whatever word’s appropriate, I came across this review of The Shiunji Family Children by FlareKnight on the site Anime Evo. His post offers captivating into the latest iteration of the family romance genre (if that’s a thing). I’ll bet FlareKnight captured what you liked about this episode!

Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 3 Review – My Eyes Are On You
Have you noticed that Kowloon Generic Romance is getting a lot of good press? It doesn’t seem to be generating the usually corresponding negative counter-wave, either, though maybe I just missed it (I don’t hang out in negatives spaces very often anymore). I found this review by ecargmura on the site ARUM Journal, and I see why the show is generating such positive interest. As with last week, ecargmura explores questions the show raises — all of which make me more curious than ever to know where the show’s heading! See if you had the same questions ecargmura did!

Eternal Triangle: Toradora
Toradora remains one of my all time favorite romance anime. In fact, I rated it a 10 on My Anime List! So when I see anyone writing about it, you know it’s going to attract my attention. And when The Overage Otaku writes about it on Confessions of an Overage Otaku? Well, for me it’s kid-in-a-candy-store time! In this post, The Overage Otaku talks about the story’s main romantic triangle. Can you guess which one it is? Is this a trick question? Well, there’s one good way to find out!

Shallow Dives in Anime
Death Note: Episodes 1-25: Two Geniuses and the Biggest Idiot who ever Lived.
This might sound weird: I never watched the original Death Note. But I have an explanation! While I recognize it’s a classic, it’s not the kind of story that captures my imagination. Now, I’m not one of those folks who think everyone has to share my opinion. I still enjoy reading other folk’s perspective on this show. That brings us to this post by Dewbond on the site Shallow Dives in Anime. He takes a fascinating look at how his opinion of this series has evolved over time, and it’s something only a writer with deep experience and the capacity for reflection could pull off. And pull it off he does! Go see if you can empathize with his journey!

Anime Review #145: Spy x Family – Code White
Did you enjoy the SPY x FAMILY series? I did. The characters, especially Loid, Yor, and Anya, elevated the series. It wasn’t just that, though. The emphasis on found family appealed to me at a visceral level. It’s like I couldn’t not like the show! So when I saw this review of the movie Spy x Family Code: White by The Traditional Catholic Weeb on the site The Traditional Catholic Weeb, I had to check it out. I’m glad I did! Not only did I learn that the aspects of the show I cherish are present — but there’s a whole lot more to dive into! Go see if The Traditional Catholic Weeb talked about what you enjoyed in the movie!

TCrow, here is my write-up on Episodes 3 and 4 of Kowloon Generic Romance as well as my series ending speculation and thoughts on what the world in Kowloon Generic Romance actually is.

To be honest, I barely see anything too negative about Kowloon Generic Romance.
That’s good to hear! I hope it keeps that trending going.
