Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 7 Review – Cliffhangers Must Be A Pizza Topping

Kowloon Generic Romance seems to still be going strong. How do I know this? Because of posts like this one by ecargmura on the site ARUM JOURNAL. Honestly, I’m starting to look froward every week to seeing a) how close ecargmura’s predictions/analysis last week came to what happened this week and b) reading her analysis of the new episode! Go see if ecargmura’s talking about the same clues you noticed!

Beneath the Tangles

Of Dying Dreams and Unholy Vows, Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray, ep. 6

If you have the impression that I might be enjoying Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray, I might have misled you. It’s more than simple enjoyment. I watch every episode in a state of near astonishment that a series about horse girls can be this entertaining and emotionally impactful. But don’t take my word for it. The show is so powerful that it encouraged claire from Beneath the Tangles to draw a parallel to Biblical writing. Not only that, but it was a reference I had to look up! And one of my areas of study had been Old Testament! Of course, that was, like, forty years ago… Anyway, claire nailed the themes for this episode. Do yourself a favor and head on over!

Killer Ending: Revolutionary Girl Utena

You know the pattern. I say something like, “The anime $anime_name_here came out over $number_of_years ago, and tons of bloggers have written all about it. Is there anything new that can be said? Well, The Overage Otaku, on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku, just said $something_insightful about this $topic_of_story_craft.” This time, the variables are, respectively, “Revolutionary Girl Utena,” “almost 30 years ago,” “redacted to avoid spoiling the post,” and “plot climax.” I think I just violated the axiom “clear is better than clever,” so while I ponder my wayward ways, please take a look at what The Overage Otaku has to say!

Hanime on Anime

Hanime on Analysis: Is All for One the Greatest Villain?

When I saw the title on Hanime on Anime’s post on the site Hanime on Anime, it reminded me of the joke about the Beatles. A reporter asked John Lennon if Ringo Starr was the best drummer ever. Lennon responded that Starr wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles!

It’s just a joke. There’s no evidence (that I could find) that anyone, much less John Lennon, actually said it. But Hanime on Anime’s question about All for One being the greatest villain in My Hero Academia is in the same vein — though she included lots of compelling reasons for her choice. I can’t say much more without spoiling it, so I’ll wrap up by saying I found Hanime on Anime’s reasoning to be rock solid! Go see if you agree!

The Magic Planet

Let’s Watch: UMA MUSUME – CINDERELLA GRAY Episode 7 – “Tracen Academy”

It’s rare a scene between two characters is so powerful that it makes me literally sit up and take notice. That’s exactly what happened Cinderella Gray’s in episode 7. Not once, but twice! I could go on and on about the dramatic impact, as well as what the scenes said about the lead character, Oguri Cap. But I have a better idea! How about I direct to someone’s way more eloquent? miss yuri sorcereur just posted this on The Magic Planet, and it’s as fine an analysis of episode 7 as I’ve seen. Especially when considered in context of the other reviews of the this series on the same site! Go see what you think!

      1. There was something I forgot to include, TCrow. I do know that time is stuck in a loop in Kowloon from what seems to be July 1st and August 30, but I completely forgot to point that out in my blog post. My theory is that this the timeframe leading up to Kujirai B’s death is important, and Kowloon, if it’s a construct of Kudo’s mind, is trying to make Kudo get closure over losing her, and thus, it is giving him time to fall for Reiko before realizing that she’ll be gone, which will give him the chance to say goodbye to her, which he couldn’t do for Kujirai B.

    1. I love series that do that! I have to be in the mood to really think, but the shows that do that are real gems.

  1. TCrow, it’s confirmed that Re:Zero Season 4 will come out next year. Season 3 was originally going to be 16 episodes and then another 22 episodes, but the next part was rebranded to Season 4.

    1. Wasn’t that interesting? I saw one of the first versions of key art, and though it was technically simple, I loved it. I’m really looking forward to the new season.

  2. Yes! Confessions of an Over Aged Otaku’s post about the ending of Revolutionary Girl Utena was really good! The part about the revolving love triangle was really interesting. Anyone that’s interested in RGU should definitely read this one. It’s a great post!
