Technically a Video Game Anime – Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Spoiler Review

Do you remember Cyberpunk: Edgerunners? I do. It’s one of those shows that grabbed my attention with glitz and pyrotechnics and kept it with interesting ideas and compelling imagery. There was also an edge of brutality to it that appealed to the realist in me. Sounds pretty positive, doesn’t it (well, except for the “brutality” part)? Do you know who else has some positive things to say about this series? Austin Harper on the site Harper Anime Reviews. What’d the show do right? What did it do wrong? Austin Harper gives a rundown of both. If you enjoyed the series, then I think you’ll get a kick out of this review!

Let’s Watch: UMA MUSUME – CINDERELLA GRAY Episode 9 – “The Japanese Derby”

How many times am I going to write a variation of “Uma Musume – Cinderella Gray is more entertaining than it has any right to be?” Apparently at least one more time, because, damn, I look forward to this show more than any other this season — including the shows I’m reviewing! Instead of me fumbling around and trying to tell you why, please let me direct your attention to this post by miss yuri sorcereur on the site The Magic Planet. I’ve said it before, and it’s still true: miss yuri sorcereur gets this show, and they’re able to convey what they get with moving passion. Seriously, if you even think you might like this show, you owe it to yourself to check this out!

Anime Review: The Most Notorious “Talker”

Some shows challenge us in ways we might not expect, or are necessarily comfortable with. Take The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan, for example. I watched the first few episodes, and based on the actions and decisions of the main character, Noel Stollen, I almost decided not to finish the season. But I couldn’t get the show out of my mind. When I remembered that there’s no law saying all shows have to present likeable main characters, I went back to finish the season — and ended up rating it an eight on MAL. This week, I found a thoughtful, reflective post by Merlin on the site Merlin’s Musings that seemed to relate a similar experience. This post captures how it feels to decide to keep watching this show. See if you have a similar experience.

The Summer of Love VII with A Certain Magical Index: The Index, Deep Blood and Sisters Arcs!

A Certain Magical Index holds a special place in my imagination. I’m not going to hold the show up as a masterclass in story craftsmanship, but on the other other hand, I’ve re-watched this series far more often than most (though not nearly as often as High School of the Dead — which reminds me, it’s about time to watch it again!). To get an idea of what Index is like, please take a look at this post by Dewbond on the site Shallow Dives in Anime. True to his reputation, Dewbond takes a balanced look at what worked and what didn’t work in this series. Overall, I think he came to the right conclusion. What do you think?

Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 9 – Analysis + Important Details

I can’t remember a show that has generated as much sustained conjecture as Kowloon Generic Romance. I remember KADO: The Right Answer coming close, but it stumbled badly, as I discussed KADO: The Right Answer’s Ending — So Close, Yet…. So far, Kowloon Generic Romance seems to have avoided that problem. If anything, the show’s getting more interesting and complex! As proof, please let me offer this post by anicritic on the site Thorough Watch. Anicritic takes the episode apart, piece by piece, and analyzes each component against the whole. I gotta say — the more posts like this that I read, the more I want to watch this series! Now if my calendar would only cooperate…

  1. Although I thank you for the feature, TCrow, I think Episode 10 got me back to thinking it’s a simulation again after a long time with no focus on a particular something. I was thinking a simulation was less and less likely after Episode 3, but with this episode, it gives big hints towards a simulation.

  2. Thanks for the feature, TCrow. I eagerly anticipate seeing how Kowloon Generic Romance wraps up its story.

Please let me know what you think!
