Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi – 10
It still amazes me how some genres/tropes in anime can make me say “WTF” — but end up being completely engrossing. OreImo was that way, at least for me. I did not think I’d care for it at all, but the characters pulled me in. It looks like The Shiunji Family Children is following in OreImo’s footsteps, if this review by FlareKnight on the site Anime Evo is any indication. FlareKnight’s discussion of Ouka’s story made her, and her situation, sound sympathetic and dramatic — way beyond what I expected from this show when I saw it was coming out this season. Is Ouka your favorite “sister?” If so, then this is the post for you! If not, the post’ll give you a lot to think about!

Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 10 Review – 403 Forbidden
Every week, I wonder if this will be the week where the shark sees Kowloon Generic Romance soar over its head. And every week, I find mounting evidence that the shark’s pretty much given up (why, yes, I twist memes into unrecognizable forms — why do you ask?). As evidence that the shark’s sky is, in fact, clear, let me direct your attention to this post by ecargmura on the site ARUM JOURNAL. I continue to enjoy ecargmura’s analysis of the show, especially her enumerations of the questions each episode intentionally raises. I’m really looking forward to the time when I’ll be able to watch it myself!

Confessions of an Overage Otaku
How to Build a Series: Haganai
You know how sometimes a show just hits your strike zone? How it becomes one of your favorites, even though other people frown when you try to describe why? That’s Haganai: I don’t have many friends for me. I gave it a 9 on MAL, whereas the community average is 7.13 (as of this writing, and I doubt it’ll change much). So, when I saw that The Overage Otaku talked about that series on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku, I had to check it out! And you know what? I had to agree with everything he said about each character and about the story as a whole. And I’m still leaving my rating intact! What did The Overage Otaku say? You know how to find out!

Let’s Watch UMA MUSUME – CINDERELLA GRAY Episode 10 – “The Peak”
Every week, I watch the latest episode of Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray. Every week, I reflect on how much I enjoy its story and characters (as if there’s a clear delineation between the two!). And do you know what else was the same this week? My admiration and affection for miss yuri sorcereur’s reviews of the latest episode on The Magic Planet. If you’re not watching this series, I think you’re missing out. And if you’re not sure but don’t want to invest the time to watch a few episode, this post is a great way to ease you in! MIB’s Instant Headache
Anime Review – Princess Principal: Crown Handler Part 3
I thoroughly enjoyed Princess Principal when it came out. It might sound silly, but the only thing keeping me from reviewing it as one of my throw-back reviews is that there are two viewing orders. That kind of thing throws me off (it’s the same with Rental Magica). So when I see a review about it or its related movies, I take notice. This week, Man In Black reviewed Princess Principal: Crown Handler Part 3 on the site MIB’s Instant Headache. Since I liked the series so much, I find that I can pick up on hints that a reviewer knows the material, and those hints were all over Man in Black’s review! Head on over to see if this movie lives up to the standards set by the original series!
