The Apothecary Diaries Episode 47 Review – Shisui’s Fate
This is a tough week, and tough weeks remind me of why I’m so passionate about fiction. Specifically, I’m enthralled by fiction’s ability to connect us to universalities in a way reality just can’t. A very, very cool byproduct of this connection an authentic emotional reaction. This week, 7mononoke, on the site Anime Rants, spoke of such an event in episode 47 of The Apothecary Diaries Season 2. I can just tell by 7mononoke’s description that this episode is exactly the kind of thing I read or watch fiction to experience. One day, I’ll find the time to watch the series. Until then, at least I have this post!

Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 13 Review + Final Thoughts – This Is The Anime Of The Season For Me
All season, I’ve eead ecargmura’s reviews of Kowloon Generic Romance on the site ARUM JOURNAL. Every week, I’d worry that the show stumbled, or even crashed and burned. See, the problem with having a lot of experience is that you learn how many ways a story can go sideways. Story arcs are surprisingly combustable! So I have to admit that I approached this post with a certain level of trepidation. Did Kowloon Generic Romance stick the landing? Faceplant? I don’t want to give it away, so I’ll just say this: ecargmura made the case for her conclusion with style and grace!

Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2)
Hard to believe that Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 concluded almost two years ago. I’ve read and watched a lot, but I’ve rarely come across a series that so expertly combines believable world-building with characters who feel absolutely real. As someone who someday aspires to be a story craftsman (no, seriously — stop laughing!), I point to something like this and say this is the kind of thing I’d like to achieve. While I’m deluding myself into thinking that’s possible, I came across this post on Hexa Blog that does an outstanding job building a case why this series should be regarded so highly. I could not have said it better myself. Go see if you agree!

Let’s Watch UMA MUSUME – CINDERELLA GRAY Episode 13 – “Japan’s Best”
According to my profile on MAL, I’ve finished 573 series. I’ve given eight of them a 10 rating. I’ve given about 110 a rating of 9, and Cinderella Gray is among them. Why not a 10? The best answer I can come up with is that it did not resonate in me like Re:CREATORS or Gate (which is getting a second season, by the way!). But I think it’d be fair to say I gave it more consideration than most 9s! If you want to see why, check out how miss yuri sorcereur speaks of the series on the blog The Magic Planet. It takes a certain level of craftsmanship to evoke such a reaction. And having watched this series from start to finish, I can wholeheartedly endorse this review’s position! Go see why!

“MEDALIST” – When You Believe
I just got done praising the daylights out of a sports anime (Cinderella Gray), and now we have a post about a second sports anime this week — Medalist. I read a number of reviews while it aired, and it looks like it impressed several reviewers who I respect. I haven’t seen much written about it after it finished airing, and just saying that made me realize one of the ways I prioritize my backlist is whether or not a series offered such a compelling story that bloggers still talked about it after it finished airing. Well, guess what? Ichi on the site Sports Baka just single-handedly improved the odds I’ll watch this show — by quite a bit! How’d he do that? Well, there’s one way to find out!

TCrow, here is a Re:Zero theory of mine that rehashes some of the things I’ve brought up before and why I think the events of Season 3 even happened:

I don’t think I’ll be picking up anything to cover for this summer season and just focus on catching up on writing on Kowloon Generic Romance and Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries).
Takopii no Genzai is what I consider the anime of the season. I don’t know if it’s your type though since it doesn’t have an extremely appealing female character since the main female lead is a sad girl who is bullied heavily.
Crow, you should definitely give KGR a try and see the craziness of it for yourself!!
I intend to! Now, if only the new season weren’t so full of interesting titles, maybe I could make some progress!
