Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray Part 2 Episode 8 Review

Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray Part 2 is a sports anime. A good one. DoubleSama, on the site DoubleSama, specializes in analyzing anime series, taking into account the genre, characters, character arcs, and the plot, and then coming up with educated guesses about where things are headed. Seeing what he thinks is going to happen next is one of my favorite parts of reading his blog! I know a series is good when DoubleSama works the equations and still can’t say for sure what’s coming — only that it’ll be big! I double-checked his math and didn’t see any errors, so I have to agree! What do you think of DoubleSama’s analysis?

Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy Season One Review: Takes A Bit To Get Going, Then It Picks Way Up

I say this a lot, but I’ve learned to say it without (much) shame: a blogger talked about yet another series I haven’t heard of! This time, the series is Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-, and the blogger is GetMoreXp from the site GetMoreXp. I like how GetMoreXp broke down what the series is about (we need a term for Yet Another Isekai), then talked about what he liked about the show. From the observations about Makoto to the fight scenes, this sounds like a series that would be a lot of fun to watch. Go see what you think!

Let’s Watch UMAMUSUME: CINDERELLA GRAY – Episode 21 – “The Arima Kinen”

There’s a lot to like about Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray Part 2. The animation continues to surprise me with its consistently beautiful flow. The dedication to presenting the detail of the various race venues gives the show a feeling of depth. The side characters (especially characters like Belno Light) provide a backdrop to help the main characters shine. And then there are the main characters. Talking about those characters is where the yuletide sorcerer, on the site The Magic Planet, shines. What is Dicta Striker up to in this episode? Super Creek? Or especially Tamamo Cross and Oguri Cap? the yuletide sorcerer has some thoughts on that!

Ruri Rocks: excavating a hidden gem

Sometimes, I feel like I’m collecting reasons to watch this or that show. One blogger might make me aware of a certain property of a show, which convinced me to put it in my backlist. Another might tell me something else equally interesting, so I bump it higher on the priority list. This week, Bloop, from the site Scribble Anime, just bumped Ruri Rocks several positions on my backlog. His enthusiasm alone helped. What else did Bloop say to make that happen? There’s one way to find out!

Vinland Saga Season 1: Despite all his Rage, he’s still a kid in the Viking Age

One of the many downsides to not having enough time to watch what I want is the constant doubt. Did I choose not to watch something that might have become one of my favorites? There are times when I start watching something and doubt I’ll like it — only to realize I’m not the target audience. I hated wasting the time! I’m not sure where Vinland Saga falls on that scale. I’ve read a lot of good reviews, but something always held me back. Now I know what it was. I just read Dewbond’s review on Shallow Dives in Anime, and I came away relieved. Not only that, but he dropped a casual observation that I wish each and every fantasy writer would take to heart. What did he say to put my mind at ease? What advice did he share? You know what you have to do!

  1. I’m happy that May I Ask For One Final Thing? is more than just Scarlet beating people with her fists. Episode 11 had Nanaka appear to be casting something on Julius, and all along that showed that Julius had a resistance to Palmia’s charm given we saw one of the pink feathers at the time, which was revealed in yesterday’s episode. I look forward to seeing Scarlet most likely use her time magic on Julius to restore Julius to before he fell under the influence of Palmia’s charm since that will likely be what it takes to save Pallistan from Terenezza and Palmia.

    1. The show does have more subtlety than just punches, doesn’t it? But it uses those punches to good effect. Terenezza was absolutely certain that Scarlet would hesitate Julius. The look on Terenezza’s face when Scarlet not only didn’t hesitate, but didn’t pull her punch, was priceless!

  2. Ruri Rocks is a great little iyashikei series. Ruri’s personality goes through some changes with the influence of Nagi and others, so she loses the bratty attitude she has in the first couple episodes. Nagi and the other grad student have quite the influence on her.
I wish there were more episodes.

    1. So it’s a relaxing show, _and_ it has character development? Maybe after I finish Secrets of the Silent Witch or With You and the Rain I’ll start this one!
