Every week, I visit about 215 anime sites looking for posts that celebrate amazing moments in animeย or otherwise blow me away with their wit and charm. These are my five favorite posts for the week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Sousou no Frieren S2 โ 02
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 is underway! I’ve been looking forward to this season since I finished season 1. Unfortunately, my schedule hates me. I actually think it’s sentient and has decided to make sure I don’t watch much this season. Fortunately, I can rely on trusted reviewers like FlareKnight on the site Anime Evo to keep me up to date. Does the second episode live up to season one’s standards? Has the series jumped the shark yet? Will I ever get over my paranoia and just enjoy a good series without worrying if it has jumped the shark? Well, to answer the first two questions, you know what to do!

Hellโs Paradise Season 2 Episode 1 Review
I am very happy and proud to announce that there is at least one series I’m watching this season. Yes, that’s right — I’m about to mention a series that has nothing to do with my backlog! How cool is that? The show is Hell’s Paradise, and since I’m watching it, I was on the lookout for reviews. Keeping in mind that I really like the series, so my expectations for reviews are really, really, high, I came across this review by 7Mononoke on the site Anime Rants. And, as expected, 7Mononoke exceeded my expectations. In fact, I want to publicly support her comment about Sagiri and Yuzuriha (and confess that I thought the same thing). Go see what we’re talking about!

Oh, So Trope-ical: The Eternal Triangle
I’ve mentioned before how I learn something every time I read a post from The Overage Otaku on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku. This week, he wrote about love triangles, and my arrogant self thought, “Finally! A topic simple enough that surely I have a good grasp of it!” So, I confidently began reading. And wouldn’t you know it? The Overage Otaku did it again! I had a great grasp on 80% of the concept. But he brought up another 20% that I’d never considered! Dang it! One day, I swear, I’ll demonstrate mastery of a topic. Seriously. Some day. Just not today. Head on over and test your knowledge of eternal triangles!

Anime VOD Review โ Cosmic Princess Kaguya
Have you heard of Netflix’s Cosmic Princess Kaguya!? I hadn’t, which by now should a) not come as a shock to you and b) should call into question my ability to stay the heck on top of things that I thought I had a handle on and even though I have a great excuse given…
Okay, let’s not go down that particular rabbit hole. Instead, let me direct your attention to a review that MIB wrote on MIB’s Instant Headache. It’s a fascinating post not only because of its eloquence describing the movie. It also explores the relationship between artistic excellence and enjoyability. They aren’t related as closely as I sometimes think, and this post does a great job explaining the hows and whys. Go read the post for the movie, stay for the artistic insights!

Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise
I am ashamed. Remember how I mentioned that I’m finding reasons to doubt that I’m as tuned into anime news as I thought I was? Well, I just found another piece of evidence: I did not know Zombieland Saga Movie: Yumeginga Paradise had been released. What the heck is wrong with me? This is one of my favorite franchises! Should I change the name of this site to “Crow’s Incomplete and Woefully Uninformed Little Corner of Anime Because It’s Clearly Not Big Enough to be a World?” Sigh. Well, fortunately, Theron, from the site USA Anime, has his finger on anime’s pulse. Theron knew the movie had been released. He even watched the movie in the theaters! How cool is that? About a cool as the review, which is to say, very! Go see what I mean!

I know, I was also shocked and dismayed that I had somehow missed the chance to see the Zombie Land Saga movie. Though it was never shown in my state, if I had heard about it early enough, maybe I could have driven to another state to see it. But it was only one night, and I missed it! (sniffle, sniffle, sob) I thought I was a big ZLS fan, but this totally flew under my radar. I hang my Otaku head in shame.
Thank you once again for this honour. I did assume after your comment on the Vampire Princess review that was the post in question you were highlighting, but I’ll take this one too! ๐
You’re welcome! I tend to celebrate posts that are more positive (though your opinion of Vampire Princess was more than justified!). I liked the ideas you played with in your Cosmic Princess Kaguya! review. Very cool!
I see. Thanks again! ๐
