Witch Hat Atelier Episode 10 Review – His World Of Silver
I can tell Witch Hat Atelier is firing on all cylinders because I’ve stopped worrying about if it’s going to faceplant. It’s earned my trust. Yeah, I guess I’m a fan. But it’s not just the animation, story-telling, and characterization that’s impressing me. It’s how the show treats characters like Tartah. ecargmura, in her review on Arum Journal, talked about exactly that this week. I really enjoyed how she described how Tartah’s story interweaved with Coco’s. She also talked about other notable aspects of the episode. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo! (KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!)
KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! is an acquired taste. It just so happens it’s sense of humor is smack dab in the middle of my strike zone. So it wasn’t at all surprising that its spin-off, KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, attracted my attention. But since the original’s humor depended heavily on the mix of characters, and since many of them were missing from the spin-off, I had to wonder: could Megumin, Yunyun, and their fellow Crimson Demons carry the show? Well, Hexa Blog just published a review of the series and answered that question — and others besides! How’s the show compare to the original? You know how to find out!

“Mashle Magic and Muscles” Smashes Harry Potter and Superman Together
A review on Hanime on Anime convinced me to watch Mashle: Magic and Muscles (just the first season so far). I discovered, just as Hanime on Anime suggested, that the show requires a certain mindset to like it. It certainly won’t appeal to everyone. What mindset? Who might like it? I’m glad you asked, because this week, Chris Kincaid on the site Japan Powered just published a review of that series, and those were just two of the many questions he answered. If you’re curious at all about the series, this review might well help you decide to watch it! And if you’ve seen it, then reliving great moments and themes is enjoyable, too.

A Certain Magical Index Light Novel vs Anime — What the Adaptation Actually Cuts
It’s really, really hard to find fiction that deals with western theological concepts with nuance and insight. Reader Paul Kemner, in a recent comment on my blog, mentioned that sometimes, anime approaches western religious organizations and their theology in a way that “avoid(s) polar good vs evil.” One show that tried to do this, at least on some level, was A Certain Magical Index. I never read the light novels, but I watched the anime back when. I enjoyed Kai’s recent comparison of the anime to its light novel (on the site Lit Retreat). The post made me really, really want to dive into the light novels. If you enjoyed Index at all, you’ll want to read this!

Why Should You Watch That?
Code Geass — Anime Review
It’s interesting how some shows are written such that different aspects appeal to people of different ages. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is one of those shows. It’s also a show that has inspired quite a few reviews! This week, Casper, from the site Why Should You Watch That, added to that body of work. Not only did he describe how the show struck him at different struck him at different stages of his life. He also did a great job framing the story in its fictional world context. That includes the context of some of the more divisive aspects of the series. This was an interesting and entertaining take on a classic series!

I liked the first season of Code Geass ’cause it was grounded by some internal logic at least, but I disliked later Code Geass content ’cause it was filled with so much nonsense.
Casper’s write-up was a good read though as you say, TCrow.
