Witch Hat Atelier Episode 11 Review – Staying As She Is
Witch Hat Atelier decided to focus on developing the Richeh’s character, which is the kind of thing that character-driven series do. That’s not all it did, of course. We got some more world-building and glimpses into the motivations of other characters, too. In fact, it was over all a very enjoyable episode! To see just how enjoyable and why, please let me direct your attention to this post by ecargmura on the site Arum Journal. Once again, ecargmura gave us not only a great summary of what happened, but fun and enlightening insights into what happened — and what might happen in the future! Welcome to the NHK: No Exit from Adulthood
Art’s an interesting thing. On one hand, it can uplift you with your favorite writings. It can get you fired up to do something difficult with invigorating music. Or it can crush your soul with animation. That last one might seem out of place, but I mean it in the sense of “crush your soul fictionally so you can avoid crushing your soul in real life.” I bring this up because of Salman Al Farisi’s review of Welcome to the NHK on the site Calxylian. What’s the show really up to? Why’s it do what it does? Salman Al Farisi lays it all out with clarity and insight, all the while keeping the material fun to read. That’s not as easy as it sounds! Go see what I mean!

Character Analysis: Akito Sohma
I still think about Fruits Basket from time to time. Its themes really resonated with me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters (to this day, I maintain that Tooru is just the peaceful form of Tanjirou). The show’s a treasure trove of techniques to introduce and dramatize different character types, and I’ve given all of them a lot of thought. Not enough, apparently, because in this post on Confessions of an Overage Otaku, The Overage Otaku just made clear something that had been nagging at me about Akito Sohma. I mean, all the puzzle pieces were there, and in retrospect, it’s clear — like many difficult problems once solved! So, if you’re in the least bit curious about Akito Sohma, you know what to do!

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3 (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3)
I’ve heard people say that KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3 and its predecessors are an acquired taste. I don’t really know about that, possibly because I was born with whatever taste is required to thoroughly enjoy the series! Why do I like this show? Well, this post from Hexa Blog has a fantastic answer! Not only that, but this post has correctly identified Konosuba’s OTP — and while it’s not a hill I’m willing to die on, I’ll certainly take a little damage to defend it! What OTP am I talking about? Dorohedoro (2020—), Season 1 Review
It’s not unusual for a blogger to find a series I hadn’t heard of, or had only seen in passing, and describe it with such lavish praise that I decided to toss it onto my enormous (and growing) backlog. But it’s really, really, really rare for a blogger to get me to change my mind if I decided absolutely not to watch a show. Dorohedoro was one such example. There was something about its promos that made me think, and I quote, “Yeah, no.” Tonight, Cassandra, on the site Moonlit Media Room, actually convinced me to give the series another chance. How’d she do that? By honestly sharing her thoughts and feelings about the show! Which is exactly the kind of post I search for every week. Go see what I mean!

I hope I made myself more clear with these supplementary write-ups as I feel I may have appeared to be jumping to conclusions due to not being thorough enough.
TCrow, I am posting a theory on Episode 76 on one of the points I brought up in my write-up. I feel I may have done a poor job this time since I didn’t elaborate enough, meaning it’s possible people who weren’t myself didn’t understand how I arrived at my conclusions, so I’ll be posting some more write-ups on this episode.

I know you’ve had theories about how Al fits into all this. I’m looking forward to seeing how all the pieces fit.
If we ever get to find out! They keep introducing what looks to me like new pieces!
I believe we will end up finding out someday even if it takes longer than expected due to White Fox being acquired by Alphapolis. I’ve read that Alphapolis and Kadokawa have much of the same shareholders, so there should still be some of the same pressure on White Fox to adapt more Re:Zero content even if Alphapolis acquired Re:Zero specifically to adapt more of its own IP.
Perhaps White Fox and/or Alphapolis will use this as leverage to get some more of the profit into its/their hand(s) or secure a larger budget for future Re:Zero seasons since a higher budget would probably result in higher profit, and if Alphapolis wants in on some of Re:Zero’s profit, it could maybe convince Kadokawa to secure a higher budget in exchange for White Fox continuing to adapt Re:Zero.
As for Al, I think he was likely the previous Hero of the story before this current Subaru was summoned to the fantasy world. I guess we’ll see one day just how he fits into the story. I personally lean towards Al having been defeated by Roswaal in the Sanctuary arc when he was the Hero of the story given he believed Emilia should be coddled by Subaru, much like how Roswaal had intended for Subaru to act.
And TCrow, there was one blurb I forgot to leave during the last part of my write-up, which is “And where I’m going with my comment regarding the nature approach is that he resisted his mixing with Meilibaru, who had an inclination to solve problems through killing even though he’d taken in Meili’s memories, thoughts, and emotions, which was a huge environmental change, and given he’d experienced her whole life, he did really well to fight back that inner darkness in desiring to kill even though he only loosely associated with being Subaru.”
I watched Seasons 1 and 2 of Dorohedoro. I’ve seen people who’ve read the manga who say that Dorohedoro will significantly drop off in quality if a Season 4 is ever made, and I don’t know how true that is.
I have to say that Cassandra D. did a good job in highlighting Dorohedoro’s strengths though. The content we’ve gotten so far is good, and I think I know who the final boss is unless that person hasn’t been revealed yet.
