This episode’s title mentioned a domestic issue. Was it referring to Eris? Is Rudy’s Era of Peace about to come to an abrupt and fiery end? Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 is a beautifully crafted show, and it’s fun to see FlareKnight highlight what makes the show so much fun to watch. Go see what I mean!

I’m preparing to engineer another audio book, and instead of using Adobe’s Audition, I’ve switched to Apple’s Logic Pro. So far, I like the tool a lot, but it does something that baffled me: it starts all recordings by default at 01:00:00 instead of 00:00:00. That freaked me out until I read a post like this one. It seems the practices and standards of the past shape the present. That’s exactly the theme of this post by The Overage Otaku on the site Confessions of an Overage Otaku, but instead of an ancient audio custom, The Overage Otaku talks about video — and it’s even more interesting! I’ve enjoyed the whole franchise, but the movie Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved seemed special to me. There’s something warm and inviting about the movie’s themes. It’s like they’re more distilled and intense compared to the series. There’s also something astonishingly cool about the dragons when they switch to their native forms and cut loose. This post by infinitezenith on the site The Infinite Zenith explores both aspects and everything inbetween. He even managed to pick up on details that completely escaped me when I watched it. Pom Poko: The Ending of the Indigenous Era
About the best I can say of our age is that I’m somewhat encouraged by the willingness some folks show to acknowledge that cruelty isn’t really a viable path forward and that the importance of facts as facts is probably underrated. These ideas are pretty basic, but it seems that from time to time, we need a reminder. It’s with that idea in mind that I came across this post by Merlin on the site Merlin’s Musings. The post is about the movie Pom Poko, which tries to accomplish something that could easily go badly. Merlin’s post lays out whether the movie succeeded or not. And guess what? My back log has grown once again because of one of Merlin’s reviews!

Have you ever watched the first season of a series, looked forward to the second season, then — you forgot you were looking forward to the second season? That’s what happened to me when I watched Knights of Sidonia. But, it’s not like I actually forgot. Something else happened — that was the part I couldn’t remember.
