BUBUKI/BURANKI Eps 13 And 14: Imōto From The Pits Of… Well, You Know!
BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy opens the reason with two episodes (episode 13, Black Oubu, and episode 14, The False Heart) that introduce us to Azuma Kazuki’s little sister Karoruko Kazuki, as well as the four borrowed limbs that make up her Buranki. We also see Guy Barville Abeille push his own mysterious agenda forward despite what it does to Maxim Arsenyevich Balakirev’s Bubuki users; we meet Ryuuki (who really owns the heart that Karoruko borrowed) and see that he treats all four of his “limbs” in a disgusting and demeaning way; we see the benefits of teamwork against mindless drones; and we witness Karoruko disregard family to throw her friends — and possibly the future of the city — in jeopardy.

Episode 15: The Right Hand’s Scar
BUBUKI/BURANKI Ep 15: An Unexpected Confession And A Plea In The Rain
In The Right Hand’s Scar, BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy’s fifteen episode, Kogane Asabuki has to confront Shūsaku Matobai and his confession about his role in her father’s death. Also, we see just how much more effective Bubuki wielders with free-wills can be: Azuma Kazuki‘s limbs made short work of the limbs on loan to his sister, Karoruko Kazuki; we learn the fate of Entei, Reoko Banryū’s Buranki and gain insight into the plans Guy Barville Abeille has for it; and we see once again how differently Azuma treats his limbs, like Asabuki, compared to how many of the other hearts treat their teams.

The seventeenth episode of BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy, named The Island Fortress, shows that Karoruko Kazuki isn’t quite the idiot she’s led us to believe she is. Azuma Kazuki and Team Oubu launch an all-out assault on Guy Barville Abeille’s island fortress. Laetitia Nilgiri Swanson reveals the reason she fights for Guy. Epizo Evans does something astounding: he thinks, though it nearly kills him and his crew! Reoko Banryū shows her self-destructive tendencies haven’t healed.

BUBUKI/BURANKI Ep 18: Casual Cruelty And A Deep Mole
In The Butterfly and the Gallows, the eighteenth episode of BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy, Guy Barville Abeille reveals a level of casual cruelty unexpected even for him. We also — finally! — learn why Karoruko Kazuki is so motivated, and we see the revenge Guy extracts for her “disloyalty” in the previous episode. Finally, we find out that Guy’s organization had a deep mole!

Episode 19: Older Brother and Younger Sister
BUBUKI/BURANKI Ep 19: Karoruko Becomes A Likable Character!
In “Older Brother and Younger Sister,” the nineteenth episode of BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy, Ryuuki and his crew of reluctant Bubuki wielders try to flush out Reoko Banryū from her hiding place in Akihito Tsuwabuki’s estate. Guy Barville Abeille drops Azuma Kazuki off at the front door to the Island Fortress. Laetitia Nilgiri Swanson and her Buranki, Epimew, try to stop Karoruko Kazuki and Zetsubi Hazama from escaping Kurorko’s beheading. Finally, Karoruko learns more about her family and actually starts making good decisions!

Episode 20: The Rebellious Limb
BUBUKI/BURANKI Ep 20: The Return (And Exit!) Of The King
In The Rebellious Limb, the 20th episode of BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy, Laetitia Nilgiri Swanson and her Buranki, Epimew, try desperately to justify Guy Barville Abeille’s faith in her by defeating Karoruko Kazuki in her Buranki Zampaza. Ryuuki senses an opportunity to cement his position with Guy Barville Abeille and goes after Azuma Kazuki and Oubu. However, Ryuuki finds that his limbs may not share his vision of the future. Reoko Banryū sleeps peacefully through the whole episode. Finally, Guy receives a surprise visitor.

Episode 21: Swan Song
BUBUKI/BURANKI Ep 21: Guy’s Sapien Supremacy Theory And Another Casualty
In the 21st episode of BUBUKI/BURANKI: The Gentle Giants of the Galaxy, named Swan Song, Migiwa Kazuki meets with Guy Barville Abeille to learn his plans. Epizo Evans takes on Azuma Kazuki and Oubu in a misguided attempt to help Laetitia Nilgiri Swanson, who learns the full extent of Guy’s duplicity. Azuma decides to take action against the fallen Treasure Island while Migiwa decides she has to take her own action.
