Quick Summary of Dr. Stone Season 2 Episode 5

In Dr. Stone Season 2 Episode 5, “STEAM GORILLA,” Senkuu’s newly build steam engine made quite the impression — especially on Magma, who decided to take it on mano-a-mano. You can guess how well that went for Magma. Gen’s bone-jarring test drive identified a potential problem: the wooden wheels were not only uncomfortable for the driver, they were not durable. Can Senkuu and Kaseki figure a way around that problem? Meanwhile, Tsukasa’s had thrown Chrome into a stone and bamboo prison. Will they bother to feed their prisoner? Can Chrome hang on until help arrives? What choice does he have?

Dr. Stone Season 2 Episode 5: It's Steam Engine vs Magma! For a about .5 seconds...

Magma decided to do the manly thing and take on the steam engine. Guess who won? Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Were you wondering how a steam engine on four wheels was going to give Senkuu and his army the power they needed to take on Tsukasa’s empire? Because I sure was! But I need not have worried. Senkuu was a step (or four) ahead of me. He knew that the engine was practically useless alone, except for the possible entertain value it plowed through Magma.

Which was quite a bit of fun to watch.

Meanwhile, the townspeople had a discussion outside of Senkuu’s earshot. As he was about to leave, several of them sprang a surprise on him. Is Senkuu’s plan flexible enough to adjust to the changes they imposed?

Finally, Chrome discovered something that could jeopardize his own rescue. Unfortunately, he has no way to communicate to Senkuu and company. Can Chrome use science to find a solution?

    1. I’ve fallen behind in almost everything except what I’m reviewing! I’ve even fallen behind in Attack on Titan!

      Having too much enjoyable anime to watch is not the worst problem I’ve ever had, though!
