Freezing Episode 11 – Quick Summary

In Freezing episode 11, “Ambush! Ravensborne Nucleochede,” the Pandora that the invading Nova turned to their side continued to infiltrate West Genetics. The third year students prepared to intercept them, while Satellizer, Kazuya, Rana, and two others had been ordered to form a second line of defense. Just how good are the third years? What are the Nova planning to do? And will we finally get to see Elizabeth in action?

Note: This post may include spoilers, so be cautious.

Freezing Episode 11: Ganessa and Rana were surprised Satellizer had become almost chatty

Satellizer surprised Ganessa and Rana. Capture from the Blu Ray.

I might quibble about the pacing and sequence reflecting how Satellizer is developing as a character. But I have to say that I do enjoy the fact her character isn’t static. That’d be just too boring.

Do you know who else noticed that Satellizer is changing? Ganessa and Rana, that’s who! In this episode, Satellizer was stationed near the Ravensborne Nucleochede with Rana, Ganessa, and their Limiters. Satellizer took a moment to talk about how she felt about being stationed behind the protective wall of the third year students.

Rana and Ganessa looked on in shock. Satellizer asked them what was going on.

“What turn of events is this?” Ganessa asked, seeming to be honestly curious (04:36). “You are rather talkative today.”

When Satellizer seemed to object, Rana said, “It is a bit unusual, I would say.”

Not only was it funny to see them react to Satellizer that way. It was funny to see Rana and Ganessa agree on anything!

Favorite Moment from Freezing Episode 11

Freezing Episode 11: Kazuya chose a Freezing-perfect moment to confess

Kazuya didn’t choose the optimal moment for a confession, but it seemed to fit! Capture from the Blu Ray.

Satellizer is still trying to recover from trauma. Kazuya is not terribly adept at confessions. The world they live in is one constant state of war – either with the Nova or with other Pandora. Any confession of love between the two would have to reflect those conditions to come across as believable.

And you know what? I think they pulled it off in my favorite moment.

It was awkward and it was roundabout. It was tangled with the Stigmata’s lore. And it just felt like it fit.

Satellizer took on the Nova-possed Cathy Lockharte after the evil Pandora had incapacitated both Rana and. But no matter how hard Satellizer pushed herself, the Nova poured more power into Cathy.

Freezing Episode 11: The Nova-possessed Cathy was a handful

Cathy’s Nova-enhanced abilities required Satellizer and Kazuya to work together – and it still really wasn’t enough. Capture from the Blu Ray.

Kazuya intervened with a freezing-area effect. Satellizer said she didn’t need him – she was still emotionally reeling from her misinterpretation that Kazuya only liked her because she carried his sister’s Stigmata.

“I told you,” Satellizer said (17:36). “You’re not needed!”

“Even if you don’t need me, I… I need you!”

“Why?

“Because you’re my partner.”

He then went on to describe how he wanted to protect everyone, just like his sister had – and he needed Satellizer to help him. Not surprisingly, that angle got through to her. She understood combat; she understood where he was coming from.

It wasn’t an ideal “I love you!” or “Awww, I love you, too!” But it seemed to fit these characters, and it seemed to fit this world. And it was nice to see Satellizer heal, even if was just a little bit.
