Freezing Episode 6 – Quick Summary

In Freezing episode 6, “Machination,” Kazuya woke up in the hospital to find that Satellizer had stayed by his side. It seemed she was warming up to him! That should be good, right? Well, Rana had different plans. Namely, Rana wanted to make Kazuya her Limiter. How will Satellizer react? Will Kazuya be able to smooth things over? Will Rana take “no” for an answer? And why does Attia Simmons seem so interested in the situation?

Note: This post may include spoilers, so be cautious.

Favorite Quote from Freezing Episode 6

Freezing Episode 6: Rana made her intentions very clear

This is an arena in which Satellizer is at a disadvantage. Capture from the Blu Ray.

There’re a lot of things I like about Rana, and one of them was on full-display in my favorite quote. The woman knows what she wants and is not in the least bit afraid to go after it.

Kazuya was eating lunch with Arthur and Kaho. They were still trying very, very hard to convince Kazuya to stay away from Satellizer. Given what we know about Satellizer, we know they’re off-base. But I appreciated their concern for Kazuya.

Rana showed up and switched on the charm. Kaho picked up and convinced Arthur to leave. Rana then set about wooing Kazuya. Hard. She even convinced him to call her just “Rana” with no honorific. That’s when Satellizer showed up.

I wondered, briefly, if Rana would back down. That was stupid of me! Rana didn’t back down. She accelerated. When Kazuya tried to explain why Rana was leaning into him in a very intimate sort of way, he referred to her as “Rana” and not Rana-san. Satellizer objected even as Kazuya tried to explain.

Rana laid it out plainly when she said (10:47), “In a relationship like Kazuya’s and mine, such a thing is only natural.”

Rana was simply not intimidated – even a little! I admire that quality in her!

Favorite Moment from Freezing Episode 6

Freezing Episode 6: Kazuya spoke up for Satellizer

Kazuya almost cleared up the misunderstanding. Almost! Capture from the Blu Ray.

I’d forgotten how much I actively dislike Attia Simmons. I want to make it clear that I understand how cliques form, even at military academies like this. Cliques naturally want to protect their own power. But did you see what Attia did when she saw the raw power that both Satellizer and Rana showed? Did she rejoice on behalf of the human race, seeing two powerful new allies in the war against the Nova?

Nope. The petty little person decided she had to do away with a threat to her position. People like her are why we can’t have nice things.

I’ll give her some credit: she knew exactly how to manipulate the kind and pure Rana Linchen. Attia convinced her that Satellizer was a predator whose next meal was Kazuya. Of course, Rana wouldn’t stand that.

My favorite moment is now Kazuya, just by being the honest, earnest dude he is, almost destroyed her plans. He tracked down Rana and Satellizer and got between them as they fought. The guy didn’t just start yelling. He asked a very simple question (21:00): “What are you doing?”

Freezing Episode 6: Rana was up-front with her concens

Rana laid out her case for protecting Kazuya. Capture from the Blu Ray.

He and Rana are peas in a pod when it comes to honesty. She said she wanted to protect him from the mean and bullying Satellizer.

“You’ve misunderstood,” he said (21:26). “Satelli isn’t using me. Actually, the one who wanted to pair up was—”

First, did you notice he called Satellizer by the nickname she requested? Satellizer had been upset when Kazuya referred to Rana as Rana and not Rana-san, so she asked that he call her something more intimate. I liked that touch.

Second, well, Kazuya wasn’t able to finish because the petty Attia intervened. It’s too bad. I wanted to see how the conversation played out! Still, I found Kazuya’s straight-forward honesty refreshing, and that’s why it was my favorite moment.

What’s you think of Rana making her case during lunch? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
