Good Smile’s Ram from Re:ZERO – Almost Like Being There!

Good Smile’s Ram from Re:ZERO is almost like being in the world of Re:ZERO! Minus all of the bloody dying and coming back to life and dealing with brutal villains like Betelgeuse Romanee Conti, that is. So, kinda better!

I recently received my pre-order of Ram. I’ve been so busy that “recently” means June 2018. Having a full time job, a family, and multiple time-consuming hobbies certainly takes it toll on one’s collectibles time!

As usual, Good Smile delivered a faithful rendition of the original. She even looked arrogantly disapproving, just like the real Ram!

There are certain traits that I’ve come to expect from anything I purchase directly from Good Smile. The Ram figure perfectly fulfilled all of these. They’re almost like tropes!

  1. Solid cardboard box
  2. Tightly sealed openings to protect against shipping dirt/contamination
  3. Attractive inner box protected by a sheet of plastic foam
  4. Figure suspended safely in a plastic cocoon to prevent damage
  5. Individual figure pieces (hips/legs and torso/head) protected by plastic to prevent chaffing/damage to the paint

The figure’s dressed in the same maid’s uniform that we see Ram wearing when we first meet her in Season 1, episode 4.

The Ram figure is wearing the same maid’s outfit that she wore when we first met her in season 1, episode 4 (4:52). Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

I almost feel like I’m repeating myself from previous previous of Good Smile figures, but the level of detail is both impressive and faithful to the series. Here’s what her outfit looks like from the front:

As usual, the detail is accurate and impressive. I wonder who she’s going to hit with the broom? Probably Subaru, and he’s probably done something to deserve it!

In addition to the usual things I like about Good Smile figures, this one is designed to link bases with Rem’s figure (which I reviewed back in October 2018).

The two figures look really good together!

I figured I’d celebrate the Director’s Cut of Re:ZERO season 1 (which you can see on Crunchyroll) by finally letting Ram out of the box. So far, she’s made no move to make me pay for keeping her in the dark for a year and a half. I’m not going to relax, though, because she’s patient and vengeful. If Crow’s World of Anime stops publishing suddenly, you know what happened and who to blame!

Did you buy the Ram or Rem figure? What did you think of them? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

    1. I highly recommend Good Smile figures in general. Ram in Rem in particular, too! I feel weird saying they’re “realistic,” given they’re from an anime series. But they look just like the anime, so realistic seems to be the right word!

    1. Don’t they, though? I didn’t mention in the post, but there’s a little plastic key that holds their two bases together, and it’s really stable.

TBH, it’s tough not to buy more of these things, though I get strange looks when my daughter’s husband’s parents visited…

Please let me know what you think!
