Episode 1: Easy does it
In Lycoris Recoil episode 1, “Easy does it,” Takina Inoue had been on a team of Lycoris that had achieved a stalemate against an arms dealer – an arms dealer who had taken one of their own as a hostage. A legendary agent, Chisato Nishikigi, was on the way, but likely would not make it in time. Takina made a command decision: she picked up a heavy machine gun and opened fire. Was that the right call? Did she rescue her fellow agent? And did the scene commander have to say about Takina’s “initiative?”
Episode 2: The more the merrier
In Lycoris Recoil episode 2, “The more the merrier,” Chisato and Takina get a new assignment: escort the hacker Walnut out of Japan. Turns out Walnut had a price on his head, and he had contracted with Mika to get him to safety. But their enemy is someone every bit as skilled as Walnut – and every bit as determined. Their foe is willing to use assault rifles to get their way. Will Chisato cling to her philosophy respecting life? Or will she listen to Takina’s advice? And just who is Walnut, anyway?
Episode 3: More haste, less speed
In Lycoris Recoil episode 3, “More haste, less speed”, Chisato had waited until the last day to get her Lycoris physical, and that day was tomorrow. Takina, hearing Chisato was heading back to the DA headquarters, begged to go with her. Of course, Chisato agreed. Once there, Takina felt taken aback by the vitriol with which the other Lycoris treated her – calling “friend killer” and the like. Takina couldn’t understand it. Why did they say such things? Why did her previous partner, Fuki, seem to lead the cruel statements? Is there any way Takina could return to DA?
Episode 4: Nothing seek, nothing find
In Lycoris Recoil episode 4, “Nothing seek, nothing find,” Chisato made a disturbing discovery while watching Takina playing a video game. The discovery shocked Chisato so much that she had to act on it immediately. What did Takina do that so provoked Chisato? Why did Kurumi deny any knowledge of this thing? And How will Takina react when Chisato confronts her?
Episode 5: So far, so good
In Lycoris Recoil episode 5, “So far, so good,” Chisato, Takina, and the rest of LycroReco got a job: protecting a disabled, wealthy businessman while taking him on final tour of Tokyo. The man said he had been hiding in the USA because someone had murdered his family years ago. He assumed the assassins were still after him. Chisato seemed more excited than usual. As the day wore on, Kurumi identified an assassin on their tail. And then her drone went dark. Are Chisato and Takina enough to keep the old man safe? Who killed the man’s family all those years ago? And why did Takina try to touch one of Chisato’s boobs in public?
Episode 6: Opposites attract
In Lycoris Recoil episode 6, “Opposites attract,” Takina received word that there was a pattern to ongoing attacks against Lycoris agents, so she needed to stay with Chisato until the danger passed. She said this to Chisato, on the phone, as she knocked on Chisato’s door. Can these two get along? Sure, Chisato was excited about the idea of a sleepover. But what about the chores? Or does Chisato have a plan about that? And what about the real danger – the assassins stalking the Lycoris?
Episode 7: Time will tell
In Lycoris Recoil episode 7, “Time will tell,” Chisato accidentally saw the subject of a text on Mika’s phone. It said Mika should meet someone at a mysterious bar to talk about Chisato’s future. There was no way Chisato could ignore that. Nor was there any way she could keep it a secret. So she roped in Takina, Kurumi, and Mizuki. They discussed the matter and decided that LycoReco itself hung in the balance. Can Kurumi’s computer skills get into the member’s only bar? Can Takina pretend to be Chisato’s bodyguard? And can Chisato pull off the role of a sophisticated, rich, mysterious bar patron? And just who is Mika meeting?
Episode 8: Another day, another dollar
In Lycoris Recoil episode 8, “Another day, another dollar,” Shinji gave his assistant an ominous assignment to do something to Chisato. Exactly what, we don’t know. But it can’t be good. Meanwhile, Takina made a terrible discovery: LycoReco was losing money! If things didn’t turn around, they might have to close! So Takina declared that she’s going to take control of the finances and rules with an iron fist. Is that better than closing? Or can she actually save the restaurant? And what is Shinji up to?
Episode 9: What’s done is done
In Lycoris Recoil episode 9, “What’s done is done,” Takina sprinted all the way to the hospital where Chisato had undergone her ill-fated physical. But she arrived too late. Himegama had already finished the procedure. Can Takina apprehend her for questioning? What had she done to Chisato? Is Chisato even alive? And how will Mika react to all of this?
Episode 10: Repay evil with evil
In Lycoris Recoil episode 10, “Repay evil with evil,” Chisato wanted to spare her friends as much emotional pain as possible. So, she announced the closing of LycoReco and encouraged them to move on. Mizuki decided to leave the country. Kurumi, knowing she wasn’t safe in Japan without constant protection, went with Mizuki. That left Chisato along with Mika. Will he tell her the truth about what Shinji wanted from her? What will she do if he tells her? And how is Takina and the other Lycoris doing in the assault against Majima?
Episode 11: Diamond cut diamond
In Lycoris Recoil episode 11, “Diamond cut diamond,” Chisato and Mika impatiently waited for Robota to tell them where they were going. So much so that Chisato almost put her foot through the dashboard! Where is Robota telling them to go? Meanwhile, Kurumi and Mizuki prepared to leave the country. Are they really going to go? Why is Kurumi researching a dilapidated building from her airplane seat? Finally, Takina grew increasingly anxious about Chisato’s safety. That anxiety grew after Chisato didn’t answer her phone. Will Takina stay with DA? Or will she strike out on her own?
Episode 12: Nature versus nuture
In Lycoris Recoil episode 12, “Nature versus nurture,” Chisato and Takina faced off against Majima. The two crouched in the cone of light Takina had created by crashing through the steel shutters. In the light, they had the advantage. But Majima was only a step away from the dark, where his hearing gave him the edge. Even with Takina’s help, can Chisato apprehend Majima? And what about the other Lycoris? What is Majima’s plan doing to them?
Episode 13: Recoil of Lycoris
In Lycoris Recoil episode 13, “Recoil of Lycoris,” Majima had finally set the stage for his confrontation with Chisato. He had even cut the power to the city so Takina could not reverse the elevator and Kurumi could not use her hacker skills. Can Chisato, still clinging to her non-lethal philosophy, defeat Majima by herself? Or will Majima finally achieve his goal? And where is Mika in all of this?
