Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10 Review – Quick Summary

In Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10, “Species 10: Everyday Life With D,” Agent Smith came up with a plan to flush out the mysterious “D.” That plan involved Darling-kun going out on dates with all of the Monster Girls. First up: Darling-kun hosted a cookout for Suu and Papi, with Zombina watching over them. But with Zombina being preoccupied with the grilled meat, would she even know if a perpetrator showed up? Later, Darling-kun went shopping with Centorea, while Manako stood guard. This time, Manako remained inconspicuous on a nearby roof-top, but Centorea’s full plate armor did more than make a fashion statement. Is Agent Smith’s plan doomed to failure?

Favorite Quote from Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10

Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10: Turns out Rachnera likes seasoned food. Who knew?

Turns out Rachnera is not a fan of season-less tuna salad. Capture from the Blu Ray.

This quote made Centorea feel bad, but that was for plot purposes. Plus, I thought it was funny given how Rachnera sees the world.

Centorea asked Darling-kun to try the tuna salad sandwich she had made for their picnic. Now, before we see what happens when he tries it, keep this in mind: Centorea is a complete herbivore. She does not eat meat or eggs. And guess what? Both are ingredients in tuna salad!

Darling-kun tried the sandwich, and though he couldn’t hide his initial grimace, he was able to put a good face on it. He told her that the sandwich had a “gentle flavor.” In the background, you could see a web drop down and pick up one of the sandwiches.

Heedless of the emotional toll her question extracted from Centorea (or maybe because of it!), Rachnera asked if she had tasted her own sandwich, because it had no flavor at all.

“Honey is a nice person, so don’t make him suffer,” Rachnera said (14:11).

Rachnera’s not wrong. But I think she could have worded it a little differently. On the other hand, Darling-kun saying it had a gentle flavor? That’s high quality dissembling!

Best in Show Moment for Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10

Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10: Darling-kun knew exactly how to help Centorea realize her worth

Darling-kun knew exactly how to help Centorea realize her worth. Capture from the Blu Ray.

Setup: Little Moments of Warmth

This episode contained a shot that might be the most hilarious moment in a series filled with a lot of funny moments. There’s a shot where the camera pans right to left. We see a tail that looks exactly like Godzilla’s tail from the 1950s Godzilla movies. The film’s scratched. In the foreground, we see tiny birds trying to fly to safety.

It’s a gigantic Suuzilla. And Papi was wedged between Suuzilla’s breasts.

I think it was the birds that really made the moment.

Two things distinguished this episode. The first was the ecchi level, which was very high. I am not complaining. On the contrary, Monster Musume does an outstanding job with ecchi. Those scenes worked within the plot, and some of them were really amusing.

Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10: Suuzilla makes me laugh every time

I laugh every time I think about Suuzilla! They even changed the shot’s aspect ratio! Do you see tiny Papi in the bottom left? Capture from the Blu Ray.

The second thing was the amount of heart in this episode. Notice I didn’t say that was a surprise. I think that by rewatching this series, I figured out that’s what made it among my favorites. They are all so good to each other! My favorite moment is one of those.

Lilith had just hypnotized Centorea. It was interesting to see how Centorea, despite her incredible strength and capabilities, could still feel so insecure about herself and her role in the Darling-kun household. Lilith had basically convinced Centorea that all she was good for was sexual play. You can tell because the result was Centorea literally threw herself on Darling-kun and saying (15:50), “I hear that human males like large breasts. Or are mine too large?”

Talk about a trick question!

Delivery: Darling-kun and Centorea

Funny? Of course. But it was equally tragic. Seeing how she reduced herself to a sexual object felt really sad. No, I’m not kidding. Seriously, I’m not kidding. I can see the moment as funny (especially given Darling-kun’s reaction), but I can also see it as sad.

A timely attack by a rampaging wild boar broke the spell. Centorea used her physical strength to knock the boar out with a log, which earned Darling-kun’s honest appreciation. But instead of his gratitude lifting her spirit, she dropped the log and lamented that physical prowess was all she was good for. Darling-kun tried to object, but she said that she wanted to be more useful. She looked distraught; she couldn’t hold back her tears. “I want to be someone you can count on… someone you need,” (18:16) she said.

Darling-kun didn’t hesitate. He gently leapt onto her back. When she looked back in surprise, he grabbed his leg and said (18:35), “Actually, I twisted my ankle earlier when I was surprised by the boar. Sorry, but could you let me ride home?”

Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 10: Darling-kun tried to convince Centorea that he needed her help

He tried to give her an excuse to give him some help. She needed a little more encouragement. Capture from the Blu Ray.

I thought for a moment that his giving her an excuse to help him might be all she needed. But then she said that she was only useful for feats of physical strength like this. That’s when Darling-kun realized that words weren’t enough, and he gave her an enormous hug from behind.

“I’m always counting on you, Cerea,” he said (18:50).

Sometimes, words alone aren’t enough. Darling-kun knew that, so he did what he could to not only tell her, but show her how important she was. It was pleasant watching how supportive he was and how much she wanted to contribute. I could use more moments like that in my life, even if they’re from fiction!

What did you think of Rachnera’s “adult punishment” for Lilith? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
