Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 12 Review – Quick Summary
In Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls episode 12, “Species 12: Everyday Life with Monster Girls”, Lala pronounced that Darling-kun was at death’s door. In fact, she had come to collect his soul. Thinking fast, Rachnera snared Lala and told the others to get Darling-kun to safety. But then Papi crashed him through a sign and Centorea became so distracted by her fantasy that she did not notice she had dragged Darling-kun several hundred meters. And they wondered: is he really at death’s door? And did they put him there?

Favorite Quote from Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 12
Well, she knows what she likes! Capture from the Blu Ray.
My major criticism of this series is that we only got to meet Lala near the end. I’m a fan of Celtic mythology, and I’m a fan of Lala’s character model (which sounds way more professional by saying I think she’s attractive). I wish we had gotten to spend more time with her.
But the time we did get to spend had a lot of great moments. One of them was how quickly the other Monster Girls accepted her into the household. Miia didn’t see Lala as a threat, and neither did Centorea.
Rachnera had a little different reason and condition for accepting Lala, though.
“If she let’s me tie her up regularly…” she said, smiling in anticipation (10:36).
I admire her dedication to her hobby.
Best in Show Moment for Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls Episode 12
If Darling-kun had to die, then Miia wanted to die with him. Capture from the Blu Ray.
I asked myself what kind of moment I should pick for my favorite. Should I favor humor and go with Salty Suu? Her comment about the freeloaders made me literally laugh out loud. Something sexy? Though I’m pretty sure that I heard Kii tell Suu to stop, so that’s not a moment I should draw attention to. I decided to pick a moment that helped me decide to put this show into the Caw of Fame. This moment might well be my favorite in the entire series. And, not surprisingly, it has to do with Miia.
The Monster Girls had bought into Lala’s grave pronouncements so thoroughly that they all expected that Darling-kun was actually about to die. It seemed shocking that Rachnera used her web to prevent Miia from protecting Darling-kun from Lala’s scythe. But that’s when Rachnera showed her rational side and said that if he had to die, it would be best if his death were quick and painless. You know, so he didn’t suffer.
Rachnera came out and told Lala to get it over with. Capture from the Blu Ray.
Miia lost her composure. Tears in her eyes, struggling against Rachnera’s webbing, she said (06:58), “Then, I’ll die with him! If you’re going to kill Darling, you’ll have to kill me, too.”
Rachnera seemed shocked, while Lala stayed silent. Miia went on to say, “If that’s the way it has to be, at least I want to be with him in Heaven.”
The animation showed her anguish. Miia’s voice actor, Sora Amamiya, brought the moment alive on a visceral level. It was a level of emotional authenticity that I didn’t expect from an ecchi series. But it’s a level I treasure. That’s why it’s my favorite from the episode.
What did you think about Agent Smith’s treatment of Lala near the midpoint? What moments did you like in this episode? Feel free to share them in the comments!
