In Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun Episode 1, “This Love… Is Being Turned into a Shojo Manga”, Chiyo Sakura had finally worked up enough courage to confess her love. She found Umetarou Nozaki alone in a classroom after school. That was her perfect chance! She stammered, tried to regroup, and finally blurted out that she was a huge fan. Episode 2: Say Hello to the New Heroine
In Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun Episode 2, “Say Hello to the New Heroine,” Nozaki introduced Sakura to Mikoto Mikoshiba. Nozaki said that Mikoto had been the model for a manga character, but Sakura didn’t see it. Until she did. And then she was not impressed. Later, Sakura introduced Nozaki to one of her friends: Yuzuki Seo. How did Nozaki react? Was it his turn to be unimpressed? And why does Yuzuki refer to herself as “impeccable?”

What she could not understand was why Yuu kept being late to drama practice, which exposed her to the wrath of Masayuki Hori, who routinely resorted to violence to bring Yuu to rehearsal. Umetarou Nozaki wasn’t convinced, so Mikoto decided to show him. What they learned shocked them both! Later, a group of friends asked Mikoto to attend a group date. The voice belonged to Yuzuki Seo, who was not only the “Lorelei” of the Glee Club, but the bane of Hirotaka Wakamatsu, one of Umetarou’s friends. Yuzuki had been causing Hirotaka so much trouble that he couldn’t sleep. That is, until he hears a heavenly voice on Umetarou’s stereo! Can Umetarou summon the courage to tell Hirotaka whose voice is so calming to him? And if he does, will Hirotaka ever sleep again? And why does Chiyo seem to find this all so funny?

Episode 8: The Prince (Girl) of the School’s Problems
In Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun Episode 8, “The Prince (Girl) of the School’s Problems,” Masayuki Hori was happy to help Umetarou Nozaki draw backgrounds for the manga. There was just one small problem: Umetarou’s directions were not specific. “Whatever/wherever” did not help Masayuki know what to draw! So he tried to help Umetarou sketch the backgrounds or at least give better directions. Can you guess if he was successful? The result might surprise you!
