My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 92 Review – Quick Summary
In My Hero Academia Season 5 episode 92, “Make It Happen, Shinso!,” Class 1A members Tsuyu Asui/Froppy, Denki Kaminari/Chargebolt, Kouji Kouda/Anima, Eijirou Kirishima/Red Riot, and Hitoshi Shinsou have to take on the members of Class 1B. The problem is, none of them understand Shinsou’s Quirk, so they don’t quite know how to leverage it. Before they have a plan, Class 1B locates them and attacks. Will the numerical superiority of Class 1A make up their fifth team member having little combat experience? Or will he prove to be the key to their victory — if they can stay ahead of Class 1B long enough to figure out how?

Favorite Quote from My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 92
Kinda feel sorry for the poor guy. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
My favorite quote this episode brought up something I’d never considered. It’s one of those things that stared me right in the face, probably since the first couple episodes of season 1. But it hadn’t registered.
To set the context: The members of class 1B seem to be regular kids, with the exception of the seriously mouthy Neito Monoma. Then again, Class 1A has Katsuki Bakugou, so I have to admit Class 1B has no monopoly on mouthy folks! Where I’m going with this is that Class 1B has normal teenagers with normal drives. Put another way, some of them have a little bit of blood flowing in their hormone streams.
Asui managed to capture Kosei Tsuburaba/Aeris. Remember how she told Izuku Midoriya/Deku that she could extend her tongue about 20 meters (back in the first season)? Well, she used her tongue to wrap Tsuburaba like a mummy and haul him to the jail for captured team members.
It might as well have been horny jail, because he sat in the cell, somewhat upset that he’d been caught, but much more upset about something else.
“They got me,” he said (08:52), “but… her tongue!”
I had never thought about Froppy’s powers from that perspective. Well, not that I’d ever admit!
Best in Show Moment for My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 92
This is what experience + a calm head + an opportunity is capable of. Asui done good in this episode! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Setup: Asui’s Moment, 82 Episodes In the Making
This moment has its genesis way back in season 1, episode 10. In case you don’t remember that episode, it was part of the arc where the villains attacked the school during a class exercise. Villains had surrounded Midoriya, Asui, and Minoru Mineta on a boat. Mineta flew into a blind panic. You might expect me to taunt him for his lack of bravery, since I really don’t like the guy. However, in this case, I’ll cut him some slack. This was his first year in class. He reasonably hadn’t expected to face actual villains for years.
Midoriya and Asui, though, remained calm. I expected that from Midoriya. He’s the main character, and the narrative had already established how he studied villains and heroes alike. Episode 10, though, gave us the first glimpse into how Asui handled such a major threat. She, like Midoriya, remained calm. In fact, when he started to get a little over-excited, she helped calm him down.
You wouldn’t know from their expressions that they were in imminent danger. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Her calm bravery remained through the whole affair with the villains. All through the ordeal, she kept her focus and fought well. Since then, I’ve wondered if we’d get to see more of her. Certainly, we saw her during her internship, and she acquitted herself admirably. In this episode, we got to see her take center stage again. How’d she do this time?
Delivery: Asui Scores a Two-Fer!
In a word? She did “awesome.”
Kirishima/Red Riot and Kouda/Anima got captured early on. That left Shinsou, who had little experience, with Asui/Froppy and Kaminari/Chargebolt to take on the three remaining members of Class 1B. Asui came up with the idea to use her mucus secretion to make all three have her scent. That was to confuse Jurota Shishida/Gevaudan, who had a fantastic sense of smell.
I should give some credit to Kaminari/Chargebolt. As they approached, he had the idea to let Ibara Shiozaki/Vine capture him. Once she drew him closer to their hideout, he planned to cut loose with his electricity to keep them busy. So really, all three contributed to their victory.
You can see the exact time that Kaminari/Chargebolt got his inspiration. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Asui didn’t do everything. I have to admit that I’m not sure her contribution was key. But her combination of calm analysis, skill, and experience put her in the right place at the right time to deliver the finishing blow. Shinsou used his power to sow doubt among Class 1B’s team members. Basically, they couldn’t be sure whose voice they were hearing. Fearing to fall under Shinsou’s power, they couldn’t even respond to each other. So when Shishida/Gevaudan tore off to attack Shinsou, he couldn’t respond to Hiryu Rin/Dragon Shroud’s warnings. Asui took the opportunity to strike Rin/Dragon Shroud. But she didn’t take him right to jail. Seeing that Shishida/Gevaudan put Shinsou in immediate danger, she did what any situationally aware hero would do.
She attacked one MF with another MF (the meme puts it better — but be aware of adult language!). Asui slammed Rin/Dragon Shroud into Shishida/Gevaudan (19:27). I really enjoyed seeing get some time in the spot light. I wouldn’t mind more of it, truth be told!
What’d you think of Shinsou’s reaction to seeing just how much experience mattered? What was your Best in Show moment? Let me know in the comments!
