My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 115 – Quick Summary

In My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 115, “Mirko, the No. 5 Hero,” Rumi Usagiyama/Mirko pressed her attack against Kyudai Garaki as Enji Todoroki/Endeavor and  Shouta Aizawa/Eraser Head tried to come to her aid. But there were a lot of Nomu blocking their approach, and Kyudai had some tricks up his sleeve. Meanwhile, the other assault got underway. Kyouka Jirou/Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack felt terribly worried about Denki Kaminari/Chargebolt, one of the few students on the front lines. Is her worry justified? How will he perform in his first major conflict? And why do the villains seem so confident?

Favorite Quote from My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 115

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 115: Shouta didn't want to be a sidekick

I really can’t see him working for Endeavor. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

I learned something in this episode: Endeavor is capable of basic banter! That fact shocked the heck out of me. But in a good way!

The battle at the hospital had intensified. Rumi came under attack by several Nomu. Endeavor and his team tried to reach her, but other Nomu attacked them.

Shouta leapt in front of them and used his Quirk to steam the Nomu’s Quirks. That gave Endeavor time to incinerate them.

Pleased at Shouta’s display of skill, Endeavor said he always had room for a competent sidekick. He asked Shouta if he would be interested.

“No, thanks!” Shouta answered immediately (06:06). “I need to take care of my lousy students.”

Well, at least his heart is in the right place. I guess?

Best in Show Moment for My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 115

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 115: Chargebolt realized who was important to him

Midnight’s words triggered a realization in Chargebolt. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

It’s hard not to pick Rumi Usagiyama/Mirko’s epic battle as my favorite moment. She showed an enormous amount of courage and raw guts, not to mention ingenuity and strength. I’m in awe of her continuing to fight despite the condition of her arm.

But the last several reviews I’ve written have taken me to a dark place. So, I want to pick a happy, uplifting moment to celebrate here. And wouldn’t you know it, My Hero Academia decided to help me out!

Last week, Denki Kaminari/Chargebolt had my favorite quote. It dealt with his terror at realizing he was on the front lines. That’s a reassuringly realistic reaction. He’s just a teenager, and he’s a student. He hasn’t seen a live-fire action outside of controlled classroom exercises. Now, he’s going up against real bad guys. Or those he considers bad guys.

My Villain Academia has left me a bit confused at times.

Anyway, back to Denki. Dude’s barely hold himself together. Nemuri Kayama/Midnight noticed and came over to give him some advice. Showing compassion for his state, she said that if he had trouble imaging himself protecting someone, then he should (19:19) “put what’s most important to you right now in your heart.”

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 115: Kyouka was important person to Denki

Guess who was important to Denki! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

She spoke as someone who’s been in his situation, and it got through to him. So much so that he stopped and looked back, the image of who was important to him crystal clear in his mind.

He saw Kyouka Jirou/Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack. He imagined her encouraging him to do his best. In that moment, his fear didn’t disappear. It just ceased to have a hold on him. He turned his attention to the fight at hand. It enabled him to protect the heroes from Amplivolt, which would otherwise have been devastating. But it was that moment of human affection, when Denki thought of Kuouka, that made his bravery possible.

Sometimes, you just want to see something uplifting. And MHA just gave it to me.

What did you think of Rumi’s fight? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
