Episode 2: Nebula Soldiers
Planet With Episodes 1 and 2 Review: A Cat Sensei and an Amnesiac Hero
In Planet With episode 1 (Light, Seven Flashes) and episode 2 (Nebula Soldiers), Souya Kuroi has a terrifying dream in which he watches his friends fly off in strange flying armor to engage what appears to be an unbeatable foe. When he wakes up, his circumstance is much less dire, though no less strange. He finds he’s living with Ginko Kuroi, a green-haired maid, and (even more unusual) a bipedal cat named Sensei that’s as tall as he is! To make matters even more unsettling, some strange — and I mean very strange — flying ships begin appearing all over the world. What’s Souya’s relationship to Sensei and the flying ships? Why does he have a maid? And what’s with the seven heroes who all have mech gear?

In Planet With episode 3, “Avenger 1,” Souya Kuroi narrowly escapes with Sensei and Ginko Kuroi after Takashi Ryuuzouji himself, the leader of the Grand Paladin, nearly destroyed all three of them. Later, in a dream, he sees the leaders of the two Nebula factions arguing, and a suspicious character seems to be a confidant of the Sealing Faction’s leader — and that doesn’t bode well for our heroes! At Ginko’s urging, Souya goes back to school and becomes an unwilling member of the Occult Club, but he is surprised to find that he’s beginning to make friends. Then another Nebula weapon attacks and threatens the peace he’s begun to hope for!

Souya Kuroi tells his friend Nozomi Takamagahara that he’s an alien from Sirius, and she believes him. Or does she? The Nebula Sealing Faction kicks their assault up a notch with a one-two punch that forces Souya and Sensei to get involved. But that angers Takezou, who’s way more dangerous than he let on. At the same time, the Sealing Faction’s leader launches his own attack on Takashi — with a surprise pilot! Will either Ryuuzouji or Souya survive these fights? Planet With Episode 6 Review: Origin of the Dragon and As Useful as This Clog

He also asks Souya to relay a message to his son. Meanwhile, his son Takashi Ryuuzouji continues to battle Kogane Shiraishi and the Generalissimo. The latter decides to punt the problem back to Sensei. That tactic puts Souya, Sensei, and Ginko Kuroi decidedly in harm’s way — along with the rest of the city.
