Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11 Review – Quick Summary

In Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11, “Those Who Fight Back”, the shadows continued to attack the people of Landosol. Ikacchi, carrying an unconscious Yuuki on his back, ran alongside Kokkoro, a horde of Shadows behind them. When they turned a corner, they found another horde facing them. With foes in front and behind, what chance do they have of escape – or even survival? Where is Christina in all of this? And how will Kaiser Insight react to Pecorine’s public declaration of her true identity?

Note: This post may include spoilers, so be cautious.

Favorite Quote from Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11: Eriko is crazy. Awesome, but crazy.

I don’t care if she’s crazy. I really like Eriko. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

I really like strong women characters. The stronger, the better. So you can pretty much guess that watching this entire series, this episode in particular, is a constant high. You would be right.

I’m going to award my favorite quote of the week to Eriko of Twilight Caravan. That whole Guild is packed with powerful fighters, particularly Ruka Tachiarai. Whether Eriko is the most powerful or not, one thing that I think is clear: The woman loves combat.

Like, seriously loves it. If it took physical form, she’d marry it. Or at least have a torrid affair.

Eriko, the spiritual form of Metamorregnant, and two others confronted Christina, who was guarding the very cool-looking mechanism. That mechanism would give birth to something terrible – and we find out what later in the episode. For now, it was simply a thing of dread. Metamorregnant asked if Christina knew what was going to happen. She did. In fact, she wanted to see the resulting battle, simply because she loves the fight.

Christina pointed out that she wasn’t alone in this. She pointed to Eriko, who was standing beside Metamorregnant. Metamorregnant’s eyes went wide, seeing Eriko looking at Christina with an almost lustful expression.

“It seems you and I think alike,” she said (03:35), launching herself at Christina.

This was a really enjoyable episode.

Best in Show Moment for Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11: Jun stood between Kaiser Insight and Pecorine.

Jun stood between Pecorine and the storm. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Setup: Pecorine Inspires

Even among the powerful women in this series, Pecorine stands out. Not only does she demonstrate more raw combat capability of practically any of the other characters – the mortal ones, at least! – she has carried an almost impossible burden. A burden that I’m pretty sure would have at least tarnished my attitude! But not only did it not bring her down. She bore it with grace.

She even loves Karyl, who’s actively helping the enemy. Pecorine represents a mythical level of goodness.

My favorite moment demonstrates that I’m not the only one who sees inspiration in Pecorine. Or maybe I should call her Princess Eustiana von Astraea now. God knows she’s earned it.

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11: Pecorine had to fight Jun first.

Pecorine prepared to take on Jun. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Kaiser Insight had taken control of the formidable Jun, captain of Nightmare, the royal guard. Both to protect herself and because she just wanted to see Jun and Pecorine fight, Kaiser Insight hurled Jun at Pecorine.

Their battle was big and loud in the style I’ve come to expect from this show. Which is to say, it was awesome. But in the end, Pecorine’s strength and will overcame Jun, much to Kaiser Insight’s rage. And this is where Pecorine’s character came into play.

Holding the tip of her sword at Jun’s throat, Pecorine said (17:57), “That was excellent swordsmanship. It clearly is the power that protects Landosol. I wanted to protect this nation by your side.”

Delivery: Jun’s Response

Pecorine’s authentic feelings reached Jun and shattered Kaiser Insight’s control. That really pissed off the tyrant. So much so that she unleashed her own power, intending her bolts of energy to incinerate Pecorine.

This is the cool part.

Pecorine flinched, already exhausted, expecting to die. But the energy never reached her. Instead, it flowed around her. That was because Jun had taken up position in front of Pecorine.

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Season 2 Episode 11: Jun's gesture saved Pecorine's life.

Princess Eustiana was astonished to be alive. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

“Would you allow me to dedicate my life to protect Landosol once more, Princess Eustiana?” she asked (19:05), holding back the onslaught.

How long has Princess Eustiana waited to hear that? And now, literally because of how well she had treated and inspired Jun, she got to her Jun call her by name, amid the crackle of insane energy on the battlefield.

The show is based on a gacha game. How the hell did it get this good? Though, you know what? I’d be asking the same thing if ufotable did it. As far as I’m concerned, it’s just that good.

What did you think of Twilight Caravan’s battle against Christina? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

  1. How can this be so good? I think that happens when the company who makes the game (Cygames) likes anime enough not only to produce a lot of them (Bahamut, Grand Blue Fantasy), but to make their own studio (Cygame Pictures), so they can make them, too (Zombieland Saga, Princess Connect).

Interesting that the Kaiser Insight on the throne seems to have been just a Shadow of the real thing… who is scarily strong.

    1. I’d forgotten Cygames was involved with Zombie Land Saga! I remembered it as MAPPA alone. Cool!

And if the shadow of Kaiser Insight was that strong, how big of a punch is the real one going to pack?

I’m really looking forward to the last episode! Though it’ll be sad to see it end.

  2. It was spectacular. The irony being that a battle between Jun and Pecorine would be the most boring thing in the game. Both are defensive tanks. I wish they fought like that in the game.

    1. I’m trying to avoid the game, because I’m afraid it would be major drain on my time! But it really looks tempting!

      1. I’ve been playing since day 1 of the global launch and it has occupied a fair bit of my time in the beginning, but it is cool. Takes a lot less time now.

Please let me know what you think!
