It’s Irina’s turn (from I Drink and Watch Anime!) to host our weekly collaboration review for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. Can you believe we’re already up to episode 6? We’re already through the training arc and are up to Tanjiro’s first mission! And what a first mission it turns out to be!

This demon takes teeth grinding to a whole new level. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Young women have been disappearing nightly — sometimes, even if they’re walking beside someone else! No one has seen anything at all, so it comes down to Tanjiro’s uncanny sense of smell to find the demon perpetrators. Partnering with a young man who was with one of the victims just before she disappeared, Tanjiro realizes another abduction is underway.

Can he save this latest young victim? What about the others? And how will he put up with the awful noise from the demon’s grinding teeth?
