Quick Summary of Re:ZERO Season 2 Part 2 Episode 44
In Re:ZERO Season 2 Part 2 Episode 44, “The Permafrost of Elior Forest,” Pandora stood before the seal. In her quiet, calming way, she tried to entice little Emilia to give up the key. Emilia, though, felt constrained by her promise to Fortuna, and refused. What can the child Emilia do, all alone, against the Witch of Vanity? Can Fortuna and Geuse reach her in time to help? Or are both of them dead? And what will all of this do to the adult Emilia, who’s undergoing her trial under the watchful eye of Echidna?

What can Emilia do, all alone, against Pandora’s cunning and raw power? Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
One of the things that Re:ZERO does well is show us just how other the witches are. Not only do they possess astonishing powers, but their perspective is entirely different from ours. We saw that with Echidna in the last season, and we are seeing it in this season with Pandora. She delivers her entreaties to Emilia with such soft, harmonious tones — yet what she asks for is hardly musical.
Can Emilia hold out? Are Fortuna and Geuse still alive to rescue her? Though, if Pandora could shrug aside Regulus Corneas’s full might, what could they possibly do? Pandora just comes back to life if you kill her!
