Shuffle! Episode 13 – Quick Summary
In Shuffle! Episode 13, “House of Twilight,” Rin and Kaede struggle to adjust to Primula having left for the demon realm. Though they’re assured Primula will be fine, they have their doubts. The way Nerine and Sia act inflames those doubts. Then Rin overhears a conversation between Eustoma and Forbesii. The words he heard change everything. What did Rin hear them say? What will he do about it? And why didn’t either Nerine or Sia tell him first?

One of the things I’ve always enjoyed about this show is how the leading harem candidates are good to each other. There’s no (or little) back-stabbing. There’s no subtle jibes. Even better, there are occasional overt acts of support.
Case in point: Rin had gone to the school’s roof to be alone. Dude seriously wrestled with how he should react to Primula’s plight – and this was before he found out what was really going on. Nerine peeked at him through the half-open door.
She, too, seemed to fight with herself. She clearly wanted to tell Rin more than she’d told him so far. But she couldn’t bring herself to do it. That’s when Sia showed up.
Nerine tried to find the courage to talk to Sia. But her resolve faltered. Sia gently prodded her about it, but she couldn’t answer.
“If you have something on your mind, don’t hide it,” Sia said (09:14). “Rather than worry about it yourself, if there’s two of us, we might come up with some good ideas.”
Nerine took her up on it, because Sia’s concern was genuine. Even if they’re competing for Rin’s affection, they saw no reason to tear each other apart. Quite the opposite, in fact! I like that in a harem.

Asa is usually the group’s comedian. Whether she’s slapping Rin on the back, joking with Kaede, or keeping the group’s spirits up. At other times, she’s a great teacher. Kaede went from not being able to cook at all to practically being a gourmet.
In this episode, though, she showed she can law down the law in a convincing way. If, that is, she’s defending Rin.
Rin had decided he was going to go to the demon realm to help Primula. He had no clue what he was going to do. No idea if he could do anything. But he’d decided he was going to go, come hell or high water, and that’s just the way it was.
Sia and Nerine didn’t seem onboard. They had come over to apologize for not telling Rin before he heard their dads talking. Asa was there, too, with Kaede. Sia and Nerine tried to argue Rin out of it. Kaede seemed to upset to make any decision. After Rin went back and forth with Nerine and Sia, Asa had heard enough.
Asa certainly got everyone’s attention!
“And you call yourselves potential girlfriends for Rin-chan?!” she said (22:09). “Haven’t you been watching how Rin-chan’s been suffering?!”
The other three women were at first shocked, then shamed. She went on about how he miserable that he couldn’t do anything and how he wanted to do something – anything. Finally, she said (22:29), “Why won’t you tell him that’s not like him at all?!”
Look, I’m not saying it’s a woman’s job to always support “her man.” Asa had no direct responsibility to do that. But I’ll tell you what. From Rin’s perspective, hearing Asa snap like that on his behalf had to be amazing. Her forceful words didn’t banish his concern for Primula. But they had to buoy his spirit.

That’s a solid breakdown 🔥. Asa definitely stole the spotlight this episode — she went from being the group’s lighthearted mood-maker to laying down some hard truth. Honestly, her calling out Nerine and Sia hit different. It showed she cares about Rin in a deeper way than just jokes or cooking lessons.
I also liked how the show kept the harem dynamic respectful — no cheap drama, just genuine conflict and support. That makes Rin’s struggle feel way more real.
If I had to pick, Asa’s outburst was my favorite moment too — it really flipped the energy of the whole episode.
