SPY x FAMILY Season 2 Episode 10 – Quick Summary
In SPY x FAMILY Season 2 episode 10, “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation,” Loid and Anya finally reunited with Yor when their ship stopped at a resort. The reunion was joyous until Loid noticed that Yor’s face was slightly puffy – from where assassins had pummeled her. How badly will Loid misunderstand the reason? Later, when Anya’s back in school, she tried to brag about her experience. But it seems that none of the other children had ever heard of Sickle-and-Chain Barnaby. Can Anya double-down on her lie to impress Second Son Damian?

Favorite Quote from SPY x FAMILY Season 2 Episode 10
Such a sweet smile – and a world-changing capacity for violence! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
My favorite quote this week was a team effort between Anya and Yor. Given the number of interactions they had this episode (it’s nice to see the family together, isn’t it?), that probably doesn’t narrow it down, so please let me set the stage.
Anya was having a blast at the resort. Loid and Yor pretty much catered to her every whim. Then they got to a venue that offered snorkeling. Anya wanted to see the pretty fishes, so she asked if they could do that.
But her enthusiasm turned to alarm when she read Yor’s mind: being seen in a bathing suit, exposing the wound on her breast, would cause all sorts of problems.
Anya showed her quick thinking – again! – when she said (06:00), “Actually, we might get eaten by sharks, so never mind.”
Yor saw the sign that said she could rent a suit. When she saw that it was one of those whole-body affairs, she said they could go snorkeling. She even said she was sure there were no sharks.
“Even if there are,” she thought (06:17), “I’ll secretly beat them up.”
Honestly? My money’s on Yor. I actually feel sorry for any sharks that might have showed up.
Favorite Moment from SPY x FAMILY Season 2 Episode 10
Loid thought about everything Yor had done, and he had to smile. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Setup: Exhaustion Strikes the Forger Family
How someone acts in the quiet moments – the ones where no one’s watching – can give us the clearest idea of someone’s heart. By the end of the Forger family’s excursion at the resort, all of them were tired. Anya, being a kid, was on the verge of collapse. Even Yor hadn’t had the most restful night.
I think we all remember the little incident with half the ship’s population being assassins? And Yor mopping them up? She handled it with Anya’s help, but still, she was exhausted. So much so that she collapsed against Loid.
Yor was that exhausted – and I choose to believe she decided she could trust Loid to catch her. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Just think about that for a second. She’s a wildly capable assassin. She can sense blood lust. She’s always on her guard. But she let her guard down completely and fell into Loid’s arms. Literally.
Loid ended up carrying both of them. I loved how he picked up Yor first, then put Anya on her lap. He’s nothing if not efficient! And of course, he looked a little put out. It’s not like he had a restoring eight hours of sleep the night before.
Delivery: Yor Impressed Loid
At first, he expressed disbelief that Yor would collapse. But there was no anger behind the thought, because he immediately followed it up with the realization that she must have worked hard last night. He was more right than he knew, wasn’t he?
Thinking back over their day, remembering how much fun Anya had had, he smiled and thought (08:36), “Yor did a great job.”
I mentioned that Yor had let her guard down. In that moment, I think Loid had, too. He smiled at the woman pretending to be his wife and Anya’s mother and admired her for the effort she’d put into making Anya happy. That was such a beautiful little family moment that I had to pick it for my favorite in this episode.
This is the perfect “Dad Shot.” This is a dad doing what a dad has to do. Check out how wiped out Anya looks! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
In the comments for episode 8, Sesameacrylic expressed the desire to see this family together, as a family, by the end of the series. Scenes like this do two things for me. First, they reinforce my hope for the same thing. These are good people. I want to see them happy at the end! And second, it gives me hope that’s where the series is heading. And to be honest? I’m not sure how I’ll react if it doesn’t work out that way.
What did you think of Anya trying to use her vacation story to stay on mission with Second Son? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
