SPY x FAMILY Season 3 Episode 46 – Quick Summary
In SPY x FAMILY Season 3 episode 46, “Anya’s Era Has Come,” the busjackers have been arrested. The kids are ready to go home, and most of their parents come to get them. Most, but not all, because both Anya and Damian remained. Will they use the time to bond, which would further Anya’s friendship plan? Will they argue? Or will one of both of their parents show up and introduce another level of complexity – especially if Melinda shows up to pick up Damian, which would throw Anya’s plans into more disarray?
Note: This post may include spoilers, so be cautious.
Favorite Quote from SPY x FAMILY Season 3 Episode 46
Yor was very concerned about Anya – in a Yor sort of way. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Yor has a particular set of skills. She’s so proficient that I think even Bryan Mills would likely be hard-pressed to keep up. She’s also a fiercely protective mother, though she has no blood relation with Anya.
Though maybe it’s because of the lack of a biological aspect that Yor feels the need to compensate. Or maybe she’s just Yor, and doing anything half way isn’t just inconceivable. It’s physically impossible.
She decided to run to the busjacking site. I think she actually had a plan – she had to check out all the places Anya might be before identifying the place she was. But she arrived just behind the atmospheric compression wave formed by her raw speed. The police officer certainly seemed impressed – both by how fast she’d been going and how quickly she stopped.
She could see Anya appeared unhurt. But she wasn’t certain she still had to ask to be sure.
“Were you stabbed?” Yor asked (06:55). “Or shot or crushed or ripped apart at all?”
Yor doesn’t just have a particular set of skills. She has a world-view formed by those skills. Fortunately for all involved, Anya was fine!

Anya was perfectly fine. Until she wasn’t. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Setup: A Target Rich Environment
I had a hard time watching this episode. Or maybe I should say it took a long time to watch. I had to keep pausing to note a potential favorite quote or favorite moment. I mean, the episode was packed full of them!
At the very least, I’d like to acknowledge the following quotes are either hilarious or very, very cool:
- Ewen (02:46): “Your ‘I’m Gonna Crap My Pants’ plan is what led that incident to being resolved!”
- Damian (05:00): “You really are amazing. I know I made fun of you a bunch, but… I guess I’m sorry… or something…”
- Damian (06:19): “Even if you got closer to me, you won’t be able to get closer to my parents.”
- Anya (07:33): “Papa was here, too!”
- Yor (08:11): “I saw Melinda’s car on my way over here, though I passed it.”
Yor’s so fast she passed Melinda’s car. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
I could easily have doubled the size of that list. And any one of those could have been my favorite quote. Most could have been the kernel for my favorite moment. But I’m a dad, so a couple of moments really stood out to me. Melinda coming to pick up Damian and his reaction to seeing her was one such moment; what happened when he mentioned his dad was another.
Delivery: Simple is Golden
Knowing those moments aren’t my favorite, I bet you know which moment I’ve chosen!
Yor had just delivered my favorite quote, Smiling, Anya said she was just fine (06:59). And then she wasn’t.
It was like Yor’s question reminded her of everything that had just happened. And that she’s just a little kid. She was balling her eyes out before she had even thrown herself into Yor’s arms with a cry of “Mama!” (07:05).
Yor was there for Anya. I don’t want to think about the wreckage she left in her wake, but she was there. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Yor, the brutal assassin, the woman skilled in more ways to kill than even Bryan Mills, hugged her not-daughter and comforted her. Anya acted exactly what a little one would; Yor did exactly what a mom should have done.
I’m an old guy, and that scene hit me right in the feels. Or whatever it’s called nowadays. I really, really want to see Yor, Loid, and Anya together at the end of all this. Seriously. I don’t want a world, even a fictional one, where they’re not a family. I have enough grief to worry about.
What did you think of Melinda’s reaction to Damian mentioning his father? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to share in the comments!
