The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7 Review – Quick Summary

In The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7, “The Receptionist Ranking,” Noir Starga and Emma Brightness have to prepare for their first exam. Unfortunately for them, they’ll have to take on such formidable creatures like a dragon. Fortunately for them, they know someone who could help them coordinate all of the work: Lola Metrose, their Guild receptionist. When the two arrived at the guild, they heard a serious argument going on. Entering, they saw that only Luna Healer’s firm hold on Lola kept her from physically attacking another receptionist, Sarah Longhram. What were the two fighting about? What was Luna so glad to see Noir and Emma? And why did Noir get a feeling that this was about to become his problem?

Favorite Quote from The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7: Rawrs are cool

I liked seeing Emma comfortable enough to joke around. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Now that I’m actually reviewing a harem/ecchi comedy, I’m finding that I have to think about the shows differently than when I simply watched them for entertainment. That self-reflection revealed something to me: There’s something I really don’t like about some of these series.

I don’t like it when someone in the harem gets their feelings hurt by being excluded by the main character or ridiculed by the other members of the harem. That’s just not cool. Life’s jam-packed with that sort of thing. I don’t want to see it in a comedy!

Fortunately, this show, at least so far, has been free of those moments. In fact, my favorite quote of this episode is an example of what happens when a member of the harem is so comfortable she can relax, be herself, and just play around.

Emma and Noir talked about their upcoming exam over lunch. As they ate, Emma suggested their pool their resources, and Noir was all like “well, of course!” Emma said that she wanted to go after a dragon.

“If we work together, we’ll be unstoppable,” she said (04:29). Then, she gave her best dragon imitation: “Rawr!”

I could do with more “rawr” in my life.

Best in Show Moment for The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7: A well-earned harem power moment

I enjoy a well-earned happy harem moment. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Setup: Good Teamwork…

One does not simply bring down a dragon, even with harem powers! It takes a plan and weapons. We got treated to a montage of Noir, Emma, and Luna using the funds they’d received by removing Maria Fiana Albert’s curse to buy spears. Lots of spears, in fact. Then they borrowed a ride from Toramaru to the mountains where they were sure they’d find a dragon.

This was the first time that Luna had been on a mission with Noir. When he came back from his trance to ask the Wise Man exactly where he could find the dragon, he understandably had a headache. Well, Emma was ready, and she planted a big wet kiss on him. To ease his headache, of course. I had to chuckle had how much Luna did not buy that explanation. Seriously, Noir should just sit her down and explain it to her. She might even be willing to help out. No sense making Emma carry the load herself!

Luna will need to get used to that

Luna’s going to have to get used to this. It happens quite a bit! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

I’m trying to get into the harem spirit of things.

Noir had a plan: dig a pit big enough to hold a dragon. Put the spears at the bottom of the pit. Cover the pit with a tarp and camouflage it. Finally, entice the dragon to bumble into the pit. Noir volunteered himself to be the bait.

The Wise Man was as good as his word: An Earth Dragon lay curled fast asleep in a cave. Noir hurled a rock at it to wake it up. The rock worked.

By the way, was I the only one who felt a little bad for that dragon? Dude was just crashed and snoozing when his adventurer paraded in and started throwing rocks. Emma had mentioned earlier that Earth Dragons like to ambush people, so maybe Earth Dragons really can’t be reasoned with. Still, I did not personally witness this dragon involved in any wrong-doing, so I felt bad for it.

Delivery: … Yields Good Results!

Noir ran for his life. As he did, I learned something about Earth Dragons. Whereas a Fire Dragon spits fire, an Earth Dragon spits very large and sharp boulders. Not having met an Earth Dragon before, I did not know that. So, learning has occurred!

Maybe a smarter dragon would have noticed that Noir leapt over the slightly different colored circle of ground. But not this dragon. It crashed into the pit as planned. Lola struck first — brutally, too. She speared the dragon in an eye. Emma shoved her spear into its chest, and Noir took out the other eye. In a matter of moments, the dragon was dead.

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Episode 7: Luna is brutal with a spear

Goodness! Luna was absolutely brutal! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

When it was over, Luna and Emma had to hold Noir up. He’d taken some damage during his last attack. Luna said, “Our bonds gave us this victory” (15:01).

My favorite moment? It was the shot of the three of them standing there, arms around each other, as they surveyed their work. Lola and Emma seemed happy and proud of themselves. Noir was still a bit dazed. It just seemed like such a happy and peaceful, not to mention well-earned, moment for the three of them. I really like it when a harem works together — and enjoys it!
