The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6 – Quick Summary

In The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6, “Getting to the Truth of the Annulment and the Fascination,” Anis took Euphie to visit Tilty Claret. The problem was, Euphie didn’t know where they were going until she was halfway there. And when she found out, she panicked. What about Tilty seemed to worry Euphie? Why did Ilia seem both sympathetic with Euphie and long-suffering about Anis’s answers? And will Ilia go back to giving us the quote of the week?

Note: This post may include spoilers, so be cautious.

Favorite Ilia Quote from The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6: Ilia couldn't be honest and reassure Euphie at the same time

Ilia knew she couldn’t be honest and reassure Euphie at the same time. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

After a brief hiatus during episode 5, Ilia returns to her rightful role as the source of my favorite quote. This time, she made a half-hearted attempt to reassure Euphie that Tilty really wasn’t that bad.

Except Ilia didn’t believe it. Anis tried to explain that Tilty wasn’t really dangerous. Except she used the phrase “super dangerous” to describe her. So Euphie turned to Ilia for reassurance. At first, the maid merely pointed out that Tilty was Anis’s research partner.

Euphie didn’t seem to catch what Ilia meant. So, the maid spelled it out clearly.

She said (01:00), “In other words, she’s the same type as the princess.”

Not surprisingly, Euphie did not feel reassured.

Favorite Moment from The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6: Anis knew when to play the "I'm a princess" card

The Princess card is best played with restraint – which is exactly what Anis did! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Setup: Anis Hates Protocol, Except When She Doesn’t

Anis is a lot of fun to watch. She’s impulsive, but she knows how to plan. She can go head to head with a dragon, but she’s soft-hearted. What I learned in this episode, via my favorite moment, is that she’s disdainful of royal protocol – but she can use it like a battle hammer if she needs to.

With flare, of course.

She knew something was up with Lainie Cyan. She stood beside the king’s chair as he and her mother the queen (who Anis seemed shocked to discover was still alive – that sounds like a back-story I want to know more about) as they questioned Lainie. Beside her, her father Dragus Cyan begged forgiveness, but the king wasn’t looking for that. He just wanted to know what was going on.

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6: Lainie was very convincing

Lainie was very, very convincing. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

Lainie shocked everyone when she said she wasn’t after Algard, and that the whole situation was beyond her. But Anis knew better. She didn’t know what was going on, but she wanted to talk to Lainie alone.

Her mother backed her, bless her heart! But Count Chartreuse objected. He insinuated that Anis wanted to bully or unduly influence the poor girl. Anis remained upbeat. With a sweet smile on her face, she said only she could have this conversation.

Delivery: Anis Plays the Princess Card

Chartreuse overplayed his hand. He objected again. Before he could go on, Anis lowered her head, frowned, and said in a solemn voice (16:48), “Do you object to what I’ve asked?”

The Marauder Princess, the young woman who disdained all court formality, did not hesitate to play the “I’m a princess and you aren’t card.” And it worked perfectly. With that single question, she sprang a political trap. Grantz Magenta, the Prime Minister, took the opportunity to put his hand on Chartreuse’s shoulder and say, “The princess is clearly insisting.”

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady Episode 6: Grantz seemed to enjoy helping Anis

Grantz didn’t hesitate to backup Anis. They made an effective team! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.

That was it for whatever Chartreuse planned. Between Anis’s political intelligence and Grantz pointing out Chartreuse’s disrespect, there was no chance Anis wouldn’t get her way. I really like that kind of depth in a character. In this case, it makes a character I already liked even more endearing. Now, if we could only figure out why she thought her mom had died…

What did you think of Anis trying to take in Lainie – and her mother reminding her who Anis had already taken in? What were your favorite moments in this episode? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

    1. No worries — the episode had a lot to celebrate!

You’re right — that tattoo absolutely rocks! It fits her personality perfectly, too!

  1. As far as taking in Laine when she already took in Euphie: while it will be awkward initially, I believe Euphie will be able to separate Lainie’s involvement from the anguish of having been discarded and publicly humiliated by Algard.

After all, I believe Lainie when she says she has no true feelings for Algard nor desire to rock the royal boat. I imagine Euphie will believe her too. Both of them were victims here, both of Algard and of Lainie’s latent (and still raw) magical ability.

I also feel both Anis and Euphie are the best people to help Lainie learn to control that ability. That’s in Lainie’s best interest, since her unchecked ability is a clearly a threat to national security!

    1. If you’ve seen episode 7 (and I’m guessing you have!), then you see whether or not your guess was right.

I agree both Euphie and Lainie were both wronged. Even if Algard had determined he wanted to live his life his way, there’s no excuse for what he did to Euphie. He might have a reason, but I’m inclined to think it didn’t justify what he did.

Anis’s mom’s obvious alarm at the potential for harm from Lainie’s abilities took me by surprise. And now she’s part of Team Anis. A team that already took down a fully grown dragon. That’s kinda cool!

  2. Methinks Anis is inadvertently trying to add a second beauty to her magicology harem! XD

Love how she subtly but firmly insists that she needs to have a private audience with Lainie. At the end of the day, she still has authority.

Love how Duke Grantz had her back. Not only would he not mind a Queen Anis, but a Queen Consort Euphie right beside her. What a nation that would be!

Finally, I’m glad Lainie didn’t pull a heel turn, and hope Anis can help her out of this mess.

I am a bit disappointed Algard wasn’t being led by his heart in spurning Euphie for Lainie. You can’t really root for him now that we know he only cares about Lainie as long as he can use her to further his dastardly schemes.

He’s full-on antagonist now, which is just less interesting. But I look forward to Anis & Co. foiling him!

    1. Duke Grantz showed perfect timing. It’s like he knew where Anis was taking the conversation, and he got ready.

Good point about Algard. If he hadn’t really fallen for Lainie, the best I can figure is that he’s involved in some political intrigue to help those opposed to his father. Which is despicable, if it’s really what he’s doing!

Yep — pure antagonist. I’m also looking forward to seeing how Anis, Euphie, tilty, Lainie, and Ilia take care of business!

  3. Anis: (quite cunningly overcomes political opposition and skillfully ascertains the issue at hand)
Also Anis: (completely fails to see the Euphie-shaped complication in her initial plan)

Please let me know what you think!
