The Misfit of Demon King Academy Episode 13 Review – Quick Summary
In The Misfit of Demon King Academy Episode 13, “Let the World Be Filled With Love,” Ray Gransdori explained why he created Avos Dilhevia two thousand years ago. Anos Voltegourde understood completely, of course, but both were determined to protect the other — at enormous cost. Even with with all of his Sources intact, was there any way for Ray to win an armed conflict with Anos? Whether he does or not, can the survivor stop Jerga’s magical form, a form that’s grown powerful by absorbing over 2000 years of hate? Or will the explosive force of thousands of Zeshias self-destructing destroy all those present, demon and human alike?

Favorite Quote from Misfit of Demon King Academy Episode 13
I almost feel sorry for Jerga. He thought that becoming the world’s order would help him in his battle against Anos. Poor guy… Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
After Jerga assumed Massive Jerga Juggernaut Form, he seemed almost invincible. He slammed both Ray and Anos to the ground. Then he spent a moment monologuing about how his body was not the world’s order and nothing could kill him.
Anos, true to his own Over Powered (OP) nature, said in reply (15:44), “Do you really think I’d do your bidding just because you’ve become the world’s order?”
This is season one’s last episode. I’m going to miss Anos’ unshakable confidence.
Best in Show Moment for The Misfit of Demon King Academy Episode 13
I couldn’t tell if Izabella was scandalized, proud, overwhelmed, or all of the above at the thought of Anos having not two, but three brides! Gusta, however, was completely unambiguous! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Setup: Sure, Anos’ OP Antics Are Fun
This episode was full of Anos doing Anos stuff. He fought against Ray, who was the reincarnation of Kanon, to protect Ray. At the critical moment, Anos let Ray plunge his sword through Anos’ source. Then Anos took on the persona of Avos Dilhevia and dropped the barrier around the two of them so that everyone, demons and humans alike, could see the hero Kanon defeating the Demon King.
Later (because, you know, death is only a minor inconvenience to Anos), Anos and Ray together fought to bring down the god-like Jerga. Anos, in fact, used Jerga’s own magic against him. Because Anos does what Anos wants.
That’s a lot of fun to watch. But what I found the most charming about this show (besides Misha, of course) was how Anos, the OP Demon King of Tyranny, doted on his mom and dad. In this episode, for example, after a hard day of vanquishing Jerga, Anos took Misha, Sasha, and Eleanor home with him. He could have gone anywhere. He’s the Demon King, after all! But he went home to mom and dad.
Anos could have gone anywhere. He decided to go home to have dinner with his family. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
His mom Izaballa rushed out to hug him, saying she was worried sick after hearing about the war. His dad Gusta, too, came out to ask how he was. But as Anos was about to explain how he ended the war, Gusta saw Eleanor.
The conversation went sideways from there.
Delivery: But Anos Always Treated His Mom and Dad Well
Gusta asked if she were another of Anos’ wives, but before Eleanor could even get a few words out, Izabella had decided that yes, there were now three. Eleanor tried to tell them that Anos “…said, ‘I’ve turned you into my own magic'” (22:54) as she tried to regain control of the conversation.
His mom and dad both interpreted that as a very, very stylish way to propose. Gusta was very proud.
Remember that there were about 10,000 clones named Zeshia? Remember how those clones called Eleanor “mama?” Well, Sasha chose that moment to wonder aloud to Misha how Izabella would react if she knew Eleanor had 10,000 kids.
Of course, Gusta and Izabella heard. They concluded they were now grandparents. Izabella decided to deescalate the situation by asking everyone to come in for dinner. Anos — and remember, this is the OPed Demon King of Tyranny — asked if she had made mushroom gratin. Of course, she had. She was now looking forward to the hectic life 10,000 grandchildren and three wives were going to bring.
If Sasha thought she’d spoken quietly enough so that Izabella and Gusta wouldn’t hear, she was mistaken. They heard. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
I thought that was the perfect way to end the season. Even more than his OP status, I think Anos’ defining characteristic is how good he is to the people around him. It’s heart-warming to see him end up with his parents, Misha, Sasha, and now Eleanor. I think we could do with a little more of that kind of warmth in our lives.
What did you think Misha and Sasha’s fusion power? What was your Best in Show moment? Let me know in the comments!
