Tower of God Season Two Episode 03 – Quick Summary
In Tower of God Season 2 episode 03, “The Trustworthy Room,” test director Mule Love was dead set against allowing Jyu Viole Grace go any farther due to his association with FUG. The Chief Test Director made it clear that Mule was to stay within the rules. Does that mean Jyu Viole Grace will get a fair chance? What does it mean for Wangnan Ja? And who came up with the idea of playing cards just before bedtime?

Favorite Quote from Tower of God Season Two Episode 03
She needs to work on reading the room. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
My favorite quote can be filed under the heading “way wrong answer” (see around 3:04). It started with Horyang Kang – it was adorable to watch him convince Hon Akraptor to go check on Miseng. The guy obviously sees Miseng as a stand-in for the daughter he lost. As a dad, I can get where he’s coming from.
He went to check on her. She wouldn’t open the door at first, because the very sensible Goseng Yeo told not to. So Hon just sat down to wait. That’s when the woman who had earlier identified herself as someone who worked at an orphanage showed up. Hon hadn’t trusted her then; he trusted her less now.
It didn’t help that she asked if he was here for the “girl,” too.
When Hon produced his spear, the woman said she didn’t want to fight. She even suggested they team up. “We’ll wait here for the other girl and gang up – “ she said (15:27).
She didn’t say much after that because Hon overpowered her and tied her up. Hon got bonus points for keeping things quiet – he didn’t want to upset Miseng!
Favorite Moment from Tower of God Season Two Episode 03
Could not have happened to a nicer guy. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Setup: Bam is Honest, if Not Very Diplomatic
This is just a personal preference, but I’m finding that I don’t enjoy Yihwa Yeon as much as Ha Yuri Jahad or Endorsi Jahad. At least we got some screen time with Ha Yuri Jahad in the first episode. I’m suffering from Endori withdrawal.
That said, Yihwa Yeon is at least someone who wants to step up and into the role. Once she learned that Viole (who we know is Bam) was a guy, she made it very clear that she hoped he didn’t expect anything from her – because he wasn’t going to get it.
Bam didn’t even understand what she meant. So, she spelled it out for him. There was no way she was going to give him her body.
“I’m not interested in your body,” he said point blank (01:43).
I kind of expected her to be pleased he wasn’t going to maul her. My bad! Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
Now, you’d think she’d be relieved, right? But this is the world of Tower of God, and it’s not a particularly nice world (it’s kinda like some cities and towns in the USA, but let’s not get overly political at this point). So instead of being relieved, she took insult, and she was going to burn him alive. And we know from Wangnan Ja that she’s been known to do things like that.
She didn’t attack right away. She planned to wait until the next test. But then Mule Love announced the next rules, and she decided this was her chance. Bam wanted to leave. She intended to barbecue him instead. She lashed out with her flames.
Delivery: Prince Got What Was Coming to Him
He hit her with a localized time stopping spell and simply extinguished her attack. That wasn’t my favorite moment, but it set it up!
Remember Prince? The arrogant little guy who was going to mistreat Yihwa Yeon? Well, he wanted to settle the score with Bam, too, so he went to their room. As Bam was leaving, Prince was about to enter. Bam paused in the doorway.
Prince, being Prince, had a speech all prepared. “Where do you think you’re going, FUG?” he said (11:48). “If you want to leave, then first you’ll have to beat m…”
He didn’t even get to finish the personal pronoun. Bam just froze him.
Prince didn’t expect to be brushed aside. Capture from the Crunchyroll stream.
After Bam left, all Prince could do is think (12:04), “What?”
I like seeing arrogant jerks get put into their place – contextualized, as it were. Which is why that was my favorite moment in this episode!
What did you think of the start of Bam’s fight with Mule Love? What were your favorite moments? Feel free to share in the comments!

I’m really loving this second season! Not all of the new cast are my favorite characters, but I think they have potential to grow into better characters, which is kind of fun to watch too. Yes, seeing that prince guy get ignored by Bam was pretty darn nice! I do kind of miss the sweet, wide eyed Bam from the first season. Was Rachel’s betrayal really enough to turn him so cold? I wonder what else happened to Bam to make him so different now?
The new characters are growing on me, too. Wangnan Ja has shown more complexity than I credited him with; and I like Goseng Yeo. Not sure why — but I really like her character. And poor Bam — he’s seen some stuff, hasn’t he? I don’t know if Rachel’s betrayal was enough, or if he incurred more damage afterward. But he’s really not okay!
My only complaint? I’d like more Ha Yuri Jahad. She brings a fun energy to the show!
And seeing Bam just dismiss Prince was really cool.
